Hospodaření se srážkovými vodami v urbanizovaných územích ČR
Mikesková, Alena
The diploma thesis deals with the issue of the rainwater management in urbanized areas of the Czech Republic. The theoretical part describes in general the problems of rainwater management, especially the problems of climate change, the elements of rainwater management... Further attention is focused on the legislation that deals with the issue. The next section is aimed to describe the selected urbanized area. The attention is focused on the application of nature-friendly rainwater management measures in public buildings. Three variants are evaluated, for all of them are processed the estimated investment costs and the SWOT analysis.
Runoff generation in urban environment
Píchal, Jan ; Daňhelka, Jan (advisor) ; Čekal, Radek (referee)
As the area of impervious surfaces at urban environment increases, the more rapid runoff and urban flash floods lead to frequent overflow of the sewer system. For storm water runoff prevention and mitigation, there are soakaways commonly built in newly build up areas. The soakaways volume calculation is given by ČSN 75 9010 regulation in the Czech Republic. The presented thesis verifies applicability of this regulation in selected study sites (smal basins) of projected building construction model basins, which differ with regard to their infiltration characteristics, slope, area and degree of planned urbanization. The runoff calculation was estimated by Clark's Unit Hydrograph (UH) transformation and triangular SCS UH. HEC-HMS software has been used for Clark's UH application. Triangular UH runoff calculation has been done using MS Excel environment to establish a series of equations and logical conditions. Both models' results were compared for storms with 5 years, 10 years, 100 years and theoretical maximum return period; thus also for storms with longer return period than is proposed in the regulation. The positive differences in soakaway peak overflows and peak runoffs in study sites before the start of the urbanization were compared and evaluated, together with the differences in soakaway...
Assessment and proposal of the river restoration measures in urban and rural landscape
Tichý, Vojtěch ; Matoušková, Milada (advisor) ; Just, Tomáš (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with a proposal and evaluation of stream restoration measures as an effective tool to achieve good ecological status within the requirements of the Water Framework Directive 2000/60/ES. The main aim of this diploma thesis is to propose stream restoration measures at the Lišanský Brook based on evaluation of hydromorphological status, analysis of land-use changes and anthropogenic modification of the river basin, runoff and water quality assessment. Attention is also paid to the evaluation of the restoration measures in the selected localities on Botič and Litovický Brook. The main method used for the design and assessment of stream restoration measures is a field survey using the HEM methodology (Langhammer, 2014). Land-use analysis and stream adjustment analysis are based on available historical maps. Based on the results, Lišanský Brook is evaluated as moderately modified. The entire river basin is an intensively farmed landscape that has been affected by inappropriate anthropogenic modifications. To improve the current unsuitable stream conditions, it would be convenient to apply complete restoration measures on Lišanský Brook. Design of a resolution of capacity problems in urban drainage system with applying the latest SuDs approaches
Petrů, Petr ; Štibinger, Jakub (advisor) ; Synáčková, Marcela (referee)
This thesis deals with a capacity problem with the sewage system in the city of Ceska Skalice in the Czech Republic. With the knowledge of the sustainable drainage urban system (SuDs) a technical solution of dealing with the insufficient capacity of the sewage system without having to change the sewage system can be designed. This thesis first of all, describes what SuDs is and how this particular system is applicated within the Czech Republic. There is also description of the stormwater and its impact on sewage system in the urban areas. The second part of the work contains case study of applying chosen SuDs solution to solve the problem in the Ceska Skalice sewage system. There is the comparison of the condition of the sewage system beforehand and after applying the SuDs. The concluding part of the thesis presents the results however, pros and cons of using the SuDs approach to improve better urban drainage system.
