Implementation of geospatial technologies into modeling of urban processes in strategic planning of city development

JAROSLAV BURIAN Abstract in English "Implementation of geospatial technologies into modeling of urbanization processes in strategic planning of city development" PhD thesis represents original author's approach to the modeling of urban processes by using GIS in Olomouc region. In theoretical part, urban processes and spatial structures of the cities are described in connection with geospatial technologies and digital data for studying, analysis, modeling and simulation. Practical part is divided into for separated parts to fluently binding and creating homogenous thematic block. The first part of the thesis analyses development of Olomouc city by using functional areas derived from historical urban plans (since 1930). The development of urban processes, spatial structures of the city and impacts of urbanization and suburbanization are evaluated. Second chapter describes identification, analysis and quantification of suburbanization in Olomouc suburban space. The main result is Toolbox "Suburban Analyst" in ArcGIS software that use multi- criteria evaluation method and allows identifying and quantifying suburbanization in municipalities' level. Evaluation of migration flows of the inhabitants of the town Prachatice and its hinterland

The thesis is focused on evaluation of physical mobility in population of an urban migration area of the town of Prachatice in the period from 1992 to 2013. The first part of this thesis is theoretical, focusing particularly on explanation of basic terms related to migration. The second part is focused on the definition of the urban migration area of Prachatice and an analysis its fundamental geographical characteristics like physical-geographic, social geographic and demographic characteristics. In the third part is the main focus of this thesis, an analysis of an urban migration area of Prachatice, migration flows between the town and its hinterland, movements of migrants in this area and influence on urbanization processes. Source data for this analysis is anonymised database of migrants of the South Bohemia Region.

Evaluation of population mobility in the migration region of the city Jindřichův Hradec

The thesis evaluates population mobility on the territory of the migration region of Jindřichův Hradec in the reference period 1992-2012. The main data source is Anonymous migration database of inhabitants of the South Bohemia region. The aim of the work is to analyse population mobility on the territory of the migration region of Jindřichův Hradec, i.e. to monitor the directions of the migrants in this region. The characterization of migration region of the city of Jindřichův Hradec is an equally important part of the work. Based on studied literature, the thesis deals also with representative works of authors who are focused on the topic of population mobility and urbanization processes, and further with selected concepts and development of the processes in question.

The business concept of catering services equipment in urban structures

This diploma thesis deals with point of food and baverage services in human residences influenced by urbanization processes. It was necessary to analyse primary and secondary data during processing this thessis. Secondary data was got from technical literature and web sites. Primary data was got due to questionare research, managed interviews and my own observing. This information was used for creating business concept which is connected to impact of urbanization processes (especially social atmosphere and social relations between residents). This concept was created for family business based on knowing people in this part of city with aim to contibute to improve social atmosphere.
