Ukrainian Academic Associations in the Interwar Czechoslovakia
Kobyletskyy, Sergiy ; Horčička, Václav (advisor) ; Mokryk, Radomyr (referee)
The diploma Thesis is devoted to research of activities of Ukrainian academic associations in Czechoslovakia in the interwar period. The Thesis examines the prerequisites for the establishment and development of various academic Ukrainian associations and institutes that have been supported by the Czechoslovak government and the launch of the Russian relief action. The first part explains why Ukrainians were forced to leave their own land and organize their lives abroad. The next part will look at the establishment of Ukrainian institutes and organizations in the territory of Czechoslovakia, including the Ukrainian Free University, the Technical Academy in Poděbrady, the Historical and Philological Society, etc. The last part is devoted to the study of the activities of the Association and the Museum of the Liberation Fight of Ukraine in Prague and its effort to collect all material concerning Ukraine. In addition, other smaller organizations and groups can be found in the work, which acted as part of the above structures or had a very limited range of scientific interests and acted independently, which is why they are often not mentioned in historiography.
