Involvement of Ukrainian pupils to primary school teaching

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of the involvement of Ukrainian pupils of the first level of primary school in the educational system of Czech schools. The thesis focuses mainly on pupils who come to Czech primary schools because of the Russian-Ukrainian war conflict. The aim of the thesis is to identify the situations and ways in which these pupils engage in education and then to analyze the factors that influence their engagement. The theoretical section introduces the reader to the basic theoretical background. The first chapters are devoted to defining key terms and current legislation related to the education of Ukrainian pupils. The following chapters describe the process that pupils from Ukraine go through when they are enrolled in education. The theoretical part of the thesis concludes with a chapter exploring the possibilities of supporting Ukrainian pupils arising from the relevant legislation. The practical part of the thesis is based on a multiple case study of four selected primary schools, which aims to describe the situations and ways in which pupils from Ukraine are involved in education in the selected schools. Adaptation of Ukrainian Pupils in Czech Primary Schools

This bachelor thesis focuses on the process of adaptation of Ukrainian pupils in Czech primary schools in the context of the current emergency situation caused by the war conflict in Ukraine. The aim of this thesis is to find out how the social and academic adaptation of these pupils takes place in school and what factors influence it. The theoretical part of this thesis contains information concerning the number of foreign pupils in the Czech Republic, legislation and support measures related to this situation. Among other things, the theoretical part contains terminology related to the adaptation of foreign pupils and defines the factors that influence their adaptation. The practical part of this thesis presents interesting findings on this topic, obtained on the basis of qualitative research carried out using the method of semi-structured interviews with Ukrainian pupils attending a Czech primary school.
