Development of tactile perception in blind children of preschool age

The bachelor's thesis addresses the topic of developing tactile perception in preschool-aged children who are visually impaired. Tactile perception is a key factor for individuals with visual impairments, especially for those who are blind, as it facilitates a more manageable and meaningful life. People with visual impairments rely on tactile perception (as well as other sensory perceptions). These individuals focus primarily on individual details, which they gradually connect to form an overall picture of a given object. The thesis includes basic theories on visual impairment, tactile perception, and typhlography. The subsequent sections focus on the development of tactile perception, stimulation, thinking, creativity, and imagination in preschool-aged children with visual impairments, as well as the importance of developing tactile perception in these children. The research was conducted using qualitative methods, with data collected through semi-structured interviews and observations. The study involved children with visual impairments and their educators from the Jaroslav Ježek Kindergarten.
