Propelling nozzles of turbofan engines
Milko, Michal ; Janhuba, Luboš (referee) ; Šplíchal, Miroslav (advisor)
The thesis describes the work principle of propelling nozzles of two-stream engine in terms of thermodynamics and also describes common design solutions which are used at most types of turbofan engines. Thesis also describes the advantages and disadvantages of each adjustments and trends in development of propelling nozzles.

Conversion possibilities of piston twin engine Beechcraft B60 Duke aircraft into prop-jet aircraft
Skládal, Zdeněk ; Šošovička, Róbert (referee) ; Šplíchal, Miroslav (advisor)
Master’s thesis deals with the issue of a conversion of a twin-engined piston aircraft Beechcraft B60 Duke into turboprop engines Walter M601 or Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6.The paper focuses on a financial analysis of conducting of the conversion, resources needed for a certification, authorization for the traffic in the Czech Republic and determination of the rate of return on investment. The thesis further deals with elaborating of the flight and prerformance characteristics, operation costs of both of the proposed engines and compares them with current characteristics and operation costs.

Thermodynamics of jet engines
Bártek, Petr ; Charvát, Pavel (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
This research introduces the reader to a brief analysis of various types of aircraft engines, with particular focus upon jet engines. Amongst the types of jet engines which will be covered are turboprop, turbojet, turbofan, ramjet, propfan, & the pulse engine. This body of work investigates the construction, operation and characteristics of these engines, including a analysis of their thermodynamic working cycle & the power of thrust produced. The main objective is to achieve a full comparison of the different kinds of engines using variables such as efficiency, fuel consumption and emission production.
