Mechanism Concept for the Exhaust Gas Flow Control at the Turbine Inlet

This diploma thesis is about design solution of new concepts cable of exhaust gas flow control at turbine inlet of turbochargers. Goals of this diploma thesis are to design and perform new concepts of exhaust gas flow control at turbine inlet of turbochargers. The first chapter of this diploma thesis is about search of existing mechanism designs and even mechanism designs that are not existing yet. In following chapters are introduced brand new and unique concept mechanism designs. The new concept designs are aiming on simplifying of whole mechanism and price reduction. The comparison and final evaluation are also based on result from multibody simulations. Based on criteria in this moment the best concept solution is the first own mechanism concept. In the conclusion are points needed for further improvement of own mechanism concepts.

The aim of the master’s thesis is analysis of practical application limits of waste-gate TwinScroll turbocharger located in BMW X6 M vehicle by using DFSS (Design For Six Sigma) tools. The goal is to create a special measurement device for a measurement of waste gate leakage with chance of testing all sorts of characteristics having impact on key parameters of turbocharger.
Castings from TiAl alloys for the turbochargers

The bachelor thesis is focused on the analysis of intermetallic alloys TiAl. First of all, it is analysed their properties and the way how they change depends on their treatment and influencing of alloying elements. Then ways of utilization in practice are stated here. Attention is concentrated especially on turbochargers wheel and their comparison to convention materials. After that individual options of melting and casting and materials for melting crucibles and moulds associated with them are there discussed. In the end, the thesis has analysed the ways of recycling of residual material.
