The occurrence of the dangerous meteorological phenomena in the Czech Republic at the different synoptic situations
GREGOR, Petr
GREGOR, P. (2017): The occurrence of the dangerous meteorological phenomena in the Czech Republic at the different synoptic situations. Bachelor Thesis, University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice, Faculty od Education, Department of Geography, České Budějovice, 62 p. The bachelor thesis deals with the occurrence of dangerous meterogical phenomenas occuring during the storm activity (tornadoes, supercells, derecho, hail storms, downburst and heavy rain) in the Czech Republic in the period 2000 2016. The bachelor thesis is also focused on the synoptic situations that occurred during the given phenomena and focused on the frequency of the occurrence in the given period. The thesis also contains a theoretical part describing the principle of the occurrence of the phenomenas, their course and possible impacts. The part of this thesis is alco a description of the synoptics situations which are affecting the Czech Republic. The thesis contains graphs with frequency of the occurrences in the individual years of the monitored period. Tornadoes and hailstorms are mapped with locations of occurrences which I created in the Arc Gis environment and I commented it. The aim of this work is to determine the occurrences of these phenomena depending on the types of synoptic situations and to determine in which types of synoptic situations these dangerous phenomena occur more often.
Atmospheric frontal passages over Prague
Obdržálková, Eliška ; Vokoun, Martin (advisor) ; Bašta, Petr (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with migration statistics atmospheric fronts over the meteorological station Praha - Ruzyně. The first part explains the mechanism of this atmospheric phenomenon, including the primary research about the North Atlantic Oscillation that could have an impact on the atmospheric front. The aim of the thesis is processing of basic statistical characteristics of time series of atmospheric fronts crossing the Prague Area in the years 1950-2015, using different statistical methods. The conclusions can be found in the second part of the thesis. The main focus is on updating the statistical processing of the transition of atmospheric fronts across Prague. For this purpose records from 1950 to 2015 were used. The actual statistics were compared with the statistics reported by the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute, which includes only the atmospheric fronts from the period 1950 to 1999. Furthermore, the thesis deals with statistical data of atmospheric transition front via Prague depending on the direction from which they come and the index value of the North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO). These statistics could be used to replace the already mentioned statistics of Czech Hydrometeorological Institue and can be used as a basis for further exploration of this issue. The Microsoft Office Excel 2007 was used to draw line and bar graphs. The Rosette graphs showing the relationship front, depending on the direction of where they come from were created using statistical program R.
