Machining of titanium alloys
Kinc, Jiří ; Humár, Anton (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
This thesis describe titanium and titanium alloys from the perspective of charakter, production and use. Thesis gives information about difficulty connected with machining titanium by basic machining methods. Titanium alloy Ti6A14V was turned in practical part. Intention was to measure cutting force and specific cutting force.
Titanium, Alloys and Intermetallics for Biological and Industrial Applications
Vespalec, Vítězslav ; Jech, David (referee) ; Čelko, Ladislav (advisor)
The creation of this Bachelor´s thesis was performed as a search retrieval, which includes basic information about titanium and its alloys. In the first chapter is stated history of titanium manufacturing. Following chapter include the most important property of pure titanium, such as alotropic modifications of the crystal grid, chemical, physical and technological characteristics, there is also space, that is assigned for using contemporary division of titanium alloys, detrimental effect of impurity, shape memory effect and intermetallics instance. Third part concern about selected application in industry. The conclusion pursue about biocompatibility factor and possibility use titanium and its alloys in implantology and dental applications.
Mechanical properties of titanium alloys
Prudíková, Alena ; Liškutín, Petr (referee) ; Věchet, Stanislav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis was created in a form of literary search and it summarizes the basic information of Titanium and its alloys. The most significant features, such as its position in Periodic Table of the Elements, allotropic modifications and their crystal lattices, chemical or physical qualities, are mentioned in the first chapters. The attention was also paid to both the mechanical and the technological qualities of titanium as such, including the effect of impurities that may be very significant. General and summarized information about the history of titanium, as well as current directions in the development of its alloys are discussed in chapter 1.3. As a following, the information about production and the methods used during the production are discussed in chapter 2. Distinct part of the thesis depicts the partition of concrete titanium alloys and the heat treatment of them. The TiAl6V4 alloy was described in details, since it is the most widely used, therefore the most often produced titanium alloy.
Fatigue properties of titanium alloys
Horník, Vít ; Němec, Karel (referee) ; Věchet, Stanislav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis is concerned with fatigue properties of titanium alloys. The introductory part deals with basic information about titanium, its production, distribution of titanium alloys and their heat-treating. Next part then describes basic process of fatigue loading with the focus on the high-cycle fatigue stress and its application on some titanium alloys. The final part of the thesis includes optical and fractograph pictures.
Machining of titanium alloys and difficult-to-machine alloys with milling
Kouřil, Petr ; Prokop, Jaroslav (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
This thesis was specialized on the issues machine difficult-to-machine alloys. In theoretical part of thesis was characterized groups of these alloys and analysis of their machinability. A face milling of the titanium alloy Ti6Al4V has been experimentally tested and statistically assessed. A total force loading and specific cutting force analyses have been done.
Machining of hard-to-machine materials
Tejkl, Jakub ; Sliwková, Petra (referee) ; Píška, Miroslav (advisor)
This bachelor thesis studies the machining of hard-to-machine materials. The first part of the thesis considers hard-to-machine materials and analyses them. The next part of the study focuses on individual alloy machinability issues. The final section of the thesis is devoted to experiment, statistical analysis and subsequently to its evaluation.
Materials used in Aerospace Industry
Večeřa, Jiří ; Juliš, Martin (referee) ; Hutařová, Simona (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with contemporary aerospace materials. First part of this thesis is engaged in aircraft construction. There is description of the most important components of fuselage and jet engine, its function, various types and materials, which is used to its production. Other part is engaged in these materials. There are aluminum alloys, titanium base alloys, nickel and cobalt base superalloys, heat-resisting steels and composites.
The use of the Titanium Alloy in the Bicycle Industry
Reichman, Ladislav ; Věchet, Stanislav (referee) ; Němec, Karel (advisor)
This final thesis summarizes the basic information on titanium and its alloys. It describes the mechanical properties, technological characteristics, methods of forming and heat treatment of titanium alloys. It informs of their use in bicycle industry.
The Material Selection for Bicycle Frames
Šály, Peter ; Petrenec, Martin (referee) ; Němec, Karel (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis summarises basic information about materials that are used for production of bicykle's frames. It concerns not only with common materials that are the most used nowadays, thus aluminium alloys and composite materials – carbon in the concrete, but it also pointed on the other, alternative materials. It also explains specific terms that relate to concrete materials or to their technological treating. Each material has listed characteristic which is objective thus measurable and it results from physical-chemical's properties and treating possibilities of concrete materials. It conveys assumption of frame behaviour made from this material. Subjective characteristic is also listed and it results from practice – from the feelings by real ride. Comparison of these two approaches resulted in conclusion which may help in choosing material for bicykle's frame which we have specific requirements on. Next thesis concerns with usage of concrete materials by various producers whether world producers or national ones, with orientation on brands which are interesting because of their treating of unusual materials or they are interesting because of their specific treating of common materials. There is a brief review of most used materials for concrete types of bicycle's frames at the end of the thesis.
Small-Volume Reactive Metal Alloys Prepared by Electron Beam Melting
Zobač, Martin ; Vlček, Ivan ; Zobačová, Jitka ; Rek, Antonín
The paper deals with the preparation of small volumes of reactive metal alloys (particularly titanium), utilizing an electron beam as the heat source. The melting was performed in a vacuum environment in order to prevent the compounds from reacting with atmospheric components. The water-cooled crucible avoids any contamination of the alloy, which would have otherwise arisen during the heating of the materials. The composition of resulting alloys were then investigated by energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy
