The female authors and their importance for the contemporary Czech literature

The diploma thesis deals with Czech contemporary female authors who focus on Czech-German relations in the 20th century and are engaged in the German-speaking area. These are Katerina Tuckova, Radka Denemarkova and Jakuba Katalpa. Each of the authors approaches the Czech-German topics with different motivations and brings a new perspective on the issue, as evidenced by a detailed analysis of the novels The Expulsion of Gerta Schnirch, Money from Hitler and The Germans. The aim of the work is to create three distinctive portraits and to name the same and different tendencies of the mentioned authors. Attention is focused on their biography, social activities and opinions, which are necessary for understanding the context.
The economic impacts of transfer of the Sudeten Germans

The bachelor thesis deals with social and economic impacts of transfer of the Germans during ten-year period from 1938 to 1948, focused on the Cheb region. In the first part of thesis, the author, after brief familiarization with the region, points out difficult time full of turning events. The process, which starts with occupation and ends with settlement of depopulated space after transfer of the Sudeten Germans, the author describes in general and then it is specifically associated with the region of Cheb and its surroundings. Changes in quantity and ethnic composition of population, as a social impact, is supported with statistics from State provincial archive Cheb. Statements of witnesses of these events contribute to authenticity. The second part analyses local well-known production of bicycles and changes in production over a decade, which were connected with chaning situation in country. At the end of this study, the author presents the facts gained by research during writing the thesis.
