Effect of a plasma torch jet wear on a newly incurred surface while using PBM technology
Mudra, Ondřej ; Osička, Karel (referee) ; Slaný, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with methods of thermal cutting, describes them briefly and compares them. For more detail plasma arc and the impact of operational parameters on the quality of the cut and on the lifetime of consumables are described. The experiment is concerned with the influence of the plasma torch nozzle and electrode wear on the cut quality. Finally there are mentioned some construction solutions to increase the lifetime of the nozzle and electrode.
Optimalization of plasma cutting parameters.
Vacula, Jakub ; Mrňa, Libor (referee) ; Daněk, Ladislav (advisor)
VACULA Jakub: Optimization of plasma cutting parameters Diploma thesis of the attendance engineer´s study – Mechanical Engineering, specialization Machinery Technology. Academic year 2008/2009. Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of University of Technology in Brno, Institute of the Manufacturing Technology. The Diploma thesis is concerned with the thermal division of a material, concretely by the plasma cutting. It monitors the operational parameters influence of this process to the result quality of cut and the purpose is to optimize these parameters from the qualitative standpoint. The experiment was executed at the plasma cutting equipment Fine Focus 800 of the company KJELLBERG with the utilization of the material S 690 QL. On the base of the literary study of the thermal division of the materials problems it was also described the comparison of the plasma cutting with the method of the division of materials by the oxygen, both from the point of view of the quality, and from the economical point of view.
Optimization of production of turbine outlet
Netopil, Lubomír ; Kalivoda, Milan (referee) ; Jaroš, Aleš (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with the optimization of the production process of exhaust casing of steam turbine, where it is used welding with coated electrode method 111 which is widely used in manufacturing of energetics components. This method will be replaced by more productive method using MIG/MAG technology with approved welding process WPS included. Next point of this bachelor thesis is a solving option of saving input material by more effective cutting plan for exhaust casing flange of steam turbine
Evaluation of the quality of laser cutting surfaces
Krejčiřík, Marek ; Sigmund, Marian (referee) ; Kubíček, Jaroslav (advisor)
As the title implies, the topic to be solved in this diploma thesis was describing and evaluating the CO2 and fiber laser cutting technologies and their comparison with plasma and oxygen cutting, described in the standard ČSN EN ISO 9013. Samples of IMEX 700 high-strength fine-grain steel with a yield strength of 690 MPa were used and subjected to a final quality assessment. The diploma thesis is divided into two parts – theoretical and experimental. The theoretical part is mainly focused on a laser. Among other things, the principle of plasma and oxygen cutting was discussed. The cutting edges of samples cut by these methods were analyzed and compared in an experiment. Last but not least, the surface roughness, material hardness, and their measurement methods were discussed in the theoretical part. The final cuts after laser, plasma, and oxygen cutting were evaluated and compared in the experimental part. The roughness of the individual cuts was compared, and measured values were classified into the relevant quality classes specified by the standard EN ISO 9013. The thermal influence of the cutting joint, the width of the thermally influenced area and the hardness history were further evaluated parameters. The obtained results were discussed and summarized in the conclusion. Studied technologies were compared. Based on the experiment, fiber laser cutting was determined as the best choice regarding quality and economics.
