The thesis examines the volunteer activities of seniors. It focuses on the intensity and nature of senior volunteering. In the theoretical part, it defines related concepts such as formal and informal volunteering, old age, and outlines life course theory. The thesis examines senior volunteering in the context of life course theory. The empirical part works with secondary factor analysis of quantitative data conducted against the background of life course theory. The aim of the thesis is to offer answers to research questions concerning the intensity and nature of senior volunteering and thus provide insights into current senior volunteering in the Czech Republic.

People with disabilities entering university

This bachelor thesis focuses on people with disabilities entering university at a specific stage of the life cycle. This particular stage of the life cycle is called emerging adulthood and includes the age range from 18 to 25. These young adults are experiencing an important milestone in their lives. In this case, this life milestone is entering university. This group of people has to deal not only with their disability but also with the pressure associated with this life stage. This the pressure is mainly from their family and college, but also from the whole society. The main goal of this bachelor thesis was to find out the conditions of people with sensory and physical disabilities at Charles University when they are entering the university and during their subsequent studies at this university. I tried to map the stage of emerging adulthood in these people and reveal some common features. The other goal was to reveal the most common obstacles that these students may encounter on their journey to obtain a university degree. I also wanted to find out how help and support both from the state and from Charles University work for students with disabilities in this particular stage of the life cycle. The life cycle theory of the organization and its use in small business

This thesis entitled "Theory of the organization life cycle and its use in small business' handles in the theoretical part with two well known theories of organizations, dealing with development and monitoring of common characters in their lives. In the practical part there is application of chosen theory to selected small engineering-oriented business, and also practical knowledge compared with those described in theory. Due to the special characteristics of the firm is then the next part of the work devoted to devising of appropriate strategies that could be used if a company will continue in development to avoid a crisis period, which may occur in its life cycle. The last part is the specification of possible risks that should the company expect during the development and also devising of preventive measures.
