Historical Atlas of the Battle of Leipzig

The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to analyze selected old maps of the Battle of Leipzig and create a historical atlas of this battle, which is one of the most important clashes of the Napoleonic Wars. In the theoretical part, the basic concepts related to the given issue are explained. The methodology of map analysis is also described, namely content, semiotic and cartometric analysis. The following is a brief presentation of the actors, causes, progress and consequences of the Battle of Leipzig. In the practical part of the thesis, a detailed content and semiotic analysis of two old maps of the Battle of Leipzig from the Map Collection of the Faculty of Science is carried out. A separate practical output is a printed thematic historical atlas of the Battle of Leipzig, which is designed and created on the basis of the knowledge gained. This atlas contains eight different maps, accompanying texts, figures, tables, as well as a character key. The atlas should show the reader the spatial location of the armies at different times and also provide basic information about the important conflict in question. Digital atlas of battle of Zborov

The aim of the bachelor thesis is to create a web map application of the Battle of Zborov based on the book Battle of Zborov: a military-historical study on the battles of the Czechoslovak Brigade in Galicia in 1917 (Klecanda 1927). In the theoretical part, basic concepts related to battle maps are first introduced. Subsequently, the situation before the battle, the course of the battle and its consequences are characterized. The subsequent part describes the methods of creating cartographic analyzes as well as the methods of creating an atlas. In the practical part, based on the information obtained in the theoretical part, an analysis of the map appendices of the book (Klecanda 1927) is carried out, and at the same time a web map application of the battle is created using ESRI products. Among other things, it aims to present the course of the battle of Zborov to the reader in a clear and interactive way. Thematic atlas of Scouting

The aim of the thesis is to create a thematic atlas of the Scouting, which will present the Scout movement through maps and additional text, images and graphs. Partial goals are to obtain suitable data related to the Scouting at the regional, Czech and world level, as well as spatial data serving as a topographical basis and to process them into maps using suitable cartographic methods. Theoretical part is focused on the Scouting and the literature dealing with thematic cartography is researched. The practical part describes the creation of the atlas itself, and the output of the work is the Atlas of Scouting created in ArcGIS Pro and Scribus software. Ways of cartographic visualization of artic glaciation changes by using methods of thematic cartography Abstract The aim of this thesis is to make a research of available geographic data relates to the development of glaciation of the Artic and also to assess the suitability of selected methods of thematic cartography to represent geographical phenomenon: change of glaciation in time. The first part is devoted to detailed research of the available databases produced by foreign research organizations. This part is followed by research of Czech and foreign literature which is focused on cartographic visualization and methods of thematic cartography suitable for expression of dynamics phenomenon. In the conclusion are shown the ways of proper choice of data with relevant cartographic method, illustrated on the attached maps. Proposal for a cartographic visualization of data in the planning analytical documents

The aim of this thesis is to propose a correct cartographic visualization of data contained in the planning analytical documents and to implement of the proposed solution to sample of municipalities with extended competence. First part of this thesis includes significance, purpose and structure of planning analytical documents and data which are presented in the form of cartographic outputs. This part is followed by interpretation of recommended methods and the concept of Thematic Cartography. The last part of the thesis includes proposal of exemplary cartographic outputs that should be part of the planning analytical documents, including design map key and map layout.
Comparison of selected methods of thematic cartography in terms of usability, with an emphasis on the unipolar anamorphosis

The objective of the thesis was to evaluate maps, with an emphasis on the unipolar anamorphosis. The theme of the maps was chosen travel time accessibility, which can be also displayed as isochrone method. The two maps were made - temathic isochrone map and unipolar anamorpis. The questionnaire was made as well for evaluating usability between two described maps. The usability was evaluated using multiple-criteria decision-making based on datas from the questionnaire. Thematic atlas of the Prague islands

The aim of the work is to create a thematic atlas, the content of which are maps of selected lesser-known Prague islands, mostly inaccessible by foot. The partial goals are the identification of all islands in Prague using spatial data and analysis, evaluation of existing and acquisition of own spatial data, which are then used to create detailed maps of selected islands and processing of an atlas with additional texts and images. In theoretical part, literature and available sources of data on the Prague islands are researched and the work is placed in the context of cartography. The practical part describes the whole process of the atlas compilation, from the identification of individual islands through field survey to cartographic processing of the obtained spatial data and finalization of the resulting work. The output of the work is the Thematic Atlas of the Prague Islands, which was made made using ArcMap and InDesign software. Key words Prague, islands, thematic atlas, thematic cartography
The creation of the Historical atlas of the Battle of Königgrätz

The goal of this thesis is to create a historical atlas of the Battle of Königgrätz. The theoretical part describes rules, concepts and methods of the thematic cartography, followed by a research of printed historical atlases, which served as an inspiration for the author. The last section of the theoretical part deals with the introduction to the Battle of Königgrätz itself. In the practical part, an appropriate methodological creation process is proposed based on the acquired knowledge. The key part of the process is working with historical maps from the Map Collection of the Faculty of Science of Charles University as well as with historical literature. The outcome of the thesis is the aforementioned historical atlas of the Battle of Königgrätz, which shows the spatial distribution of armies during the battle using chronologically ordered maps and provides basic information regarding the causes, course, consequences and key moments of the conflict. Thematic atlas of the Seventh-day Adventist Church

The main aim of the thesis is to create a thematic atlas of the Seventh-day Adventist Church to describe essential information about the Church through maps which are accompanied by texts, pictures and graphs. Partial goals are to obtain suitable spatial data related to the Seventh-day Adventist Church and to use thematic cartography methods which finally formed related maps. The theoretical part of the thesis is focused on the presentation of the Seventh-day Adventist Church and the summary of literature dealing with thematic cartography. These findings are put into practice in the practical part and the output of the thesis is the thematic Atlas of the Seventh-day Adventist Church created in ArcMap and InDesign softwares.
