Spoil heap heterogenity and its effect on vegetation
Pochmanová, Pavla ; Frouz, Jan (advisor) ; Vojta, Jaroslav (referee)
One of the major industrial activities in North West Bohemia is brown coal mining. Mines and heaps originated during the mining process represent main elements of adverse changes in the local landscape. They are causes of changes of all subsystems of landscape, soil and mineral environment, water situation, atmosphere, etc. Subsequent recovering of these impacts of mining activities is not easy in terms of technology or time. Reclamation engages in such activities. Its aim is to restore production function of land and to create a balanced, aesthetically, naturally and hygienically valuable landscape. This thesis deals with the development of mining and descriptions of various methods of reclamation with regard to the heterogeneity of reclaimed areas. In conclusion, own experiments carried on the surface of succession area "Radovesice XVII.B" are presented. Key words: succession, land reclamation, heaps tailings, mining activity and heterogenity

The propose of this diploma thesis is to analyse the system of working safety in lumber industry, based on Czech and European legislation and other laws and regulations. It is also important to study the technical literature in comparison with the statistics made by state and trade union organisations. The conclusion is also based on the data gather by means of a questionnaire, which was fulfilled by a sample of workers in logging field, and their level of working safety is then compared to the one of Lesy České republiky, s. p., the forest enterprise of Židlochovice, Vojenské lesy a statky, s. p., a division of Plumlov and a private enterpriser. Besides, my own investigation into not obeying the regulation of working safety by a self-employer was done. By means of all the gathered data a suggestion was made to boost the effectiveness of working safety and health protection which could result in minimising of the number of work injuries and accidents.

Strmisková, Klára
The bachelor thesis deals with evaluation of the landscape character in selected municipalities in the microregion Ždánicko. The theoretical part focuses on issues of evaluation of landscape character and gives an overview of the most common methodological recommendations. Particular components of landscape character - natural, cultural and historical characteristics are evaluated in the practical part. Emphasis is put on the aspects of viticulture and mining activities in the area, which significantly contributes to the appearance of the local landscape. Within the evaluation, the main features involved in formation of the typical landscape character are identified for defined landscape areas. The bachelor thesis is supplemented by the calculation of the ecological stability coefficient for individual municipalities, an interview with the Mayor of Žarošice village and email communication with representatives from Dambořice and Uhřice. The result of this study is an appreciation of the landscape character, which led to the subsequent design of principles for preserving a typical landscape character for the future.
