Load bearing structure of a multi storey building
Janči, Michal ; Šmak, Milan (referee) ; Straka, Bohumil (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with the design and assessment of the load bearing structure of a multi-storey building, proposed by the combination of two materials, steel and glued laminated timber. The building has a V-shape, the angle between legs is 120 °. Floor plan dimensions of one arm of the building are approximately 40x20m, building height is 24.3 meters. The building is designed with a flat green roof. The load bearing structure is solved as a heavy frame, lower three floors are made of steel and serves as the business premises, top four floors are residential, and their structure is designed of the glued laminated timber. Bracing of the whole structure is solved by a system of crossed steel rods.
The Roofing of the Three-Aisled Sport Building
Labuda, Ondřej ; Šmak, Milan (referee) ; Buchta, Stanislav (advisor)
The theme of the master’s thesis is to design wooden roof structure three-aisled building in Brno. The proposal is developed up according to standards ČSN EN. The thesis solves the static effect of the wooden structure, design of parts, and materials design. Plan dimensions are 51x14m, maximal height is 11,9m. The structure is designed for ultimate limit states and serviceability. The supporting structure is designed as solid wooden arched trusses frames's connection to the wooden pole. The thesis solve also details and solution design.
The Exhibition Gallery in Olomouc
Morcinková, Eliška ; Straka,, Bohumil (referee) ; Šmak, Milan (advisor)
The aim of this diploma thesis is the design of bearing construction of the Exhibition gallery in Olomouc. The building is of irregular shape with the biggest span of 50 m. The bearing structure in the highest point goes up to 14,6 m. The main design material is the glue-laminated timber GL24h and GL32h. The optimization of chosen parts of the structure has been made and the best option was then used in the detailed structural calculation. The bearing structure consists of circular columns to which the floor beams and roof trusses are connected. The irregular structure of the gallery comprises of three different roof types – flat trafficable roof, double-pitched glass roof formed by pitched cambered trusses and single-pitch roof spanning over the central part of a 20,7 m span. Within the thesis the design and check of the main structure members and connections has been made. The entire structure is pinned and its stiffness is secured by the system of tension rods and rigid floor and roof construction respectively.
Handball hall in Napajedla
Mikeš, Daniel ; Balázs, Ivan (referee) ; Pešek, Ondřej (advisor)
The object of the Bachelor´s thesis is the design and the assessment of the new handball hall in Napajedla. The ground plan proportions of the structure are 26 x 28 metres and the height of the structure is 11 metres. The axial distance of the main structure is 4 metres. All dimensions of the structure are chosen to fullfil the requirements for the game space of national handball matches. The roof structure is constructed of purlins and truss girders made of a glue laminated timber GL24h. The joints of truss girder are designed as bolt joints with inserted gusset plates. The vertical load-bearing structure and bracings are designed of steel S355. Spatial rigidity of the structure is ensured by fixing of the steel column base in the plane of the main structure and by the system of bracings in the longitudinal direction of the structure.
Load-bearing structure of lookout tower
Zýbalová, Veronika ; Pešek, Ondřej (referee) ; Balázs, Ivan (advisor)
The object of the master's thesis is the design and assessment of the load-bearing structure of the lookout tower on the Výzkum hill in Bílé Karpaty. The structure is made of glued laminated timber and steel. Two solution variants are proposed. Both variants are spatial truss structures of an hourglass shape. The difference is in the floor shape. The first variant is of hexagonal shape and the second one is of square shape. Both variants were created and assessed in a software Dlubal RFEM and then compared. For more detailed processing, the first variant with a hexagonal plan was chosen. Structure of lookout tower is 36 meters high. In the widest section the structure is 10 meters wide and in narrowest section 7 meters wide. The viewing platform is located at a height of 31,5 meters.
