Design of overvoltage protections according to CSN EN 62 305
Pochop, Zbyněk ; Paar, Martin (referee) ; Bátora, Branislav (advisor)
This Bachelor's thesis deals with the procedure in designing overvoltage protections for an ordinary house according to a new set of standards CSN EN 62305. The work consists of three main parts. The first part deals with the method of risk management according to standard CSN EN 62305-2. Besides a theoretical introduction is made a risk analysis also numerically. Result of risk analysis has implications for the way forward surge protection design for the entire building. The second part deals with the external surge protection. In the second part of the text are suggestions down lead systems and primarily air terminals. Check over is subsequently verified by the methods of the protective angle method and the rolling ball. The study also addressed the issue of TV antennae on the roof near the air-termination network. The third part of this thesis deals with internal overvoltage protection, which mainly concerns the design and location of surge arresters and lightning arrester.
Surge arresters testing
Chrástecký, Lukáš ; Krbal, Michal (referee) ; Toman, Petr (advisor)
This work deals with voltage surges in electrical grids, overvoltage protection and testing of surge arresters. The first part of thesis is focused on the issue of overvoltage impulses caused by different sources and their description. The next part of the thesis deals with surge arresters and it is focused on their classification, attributes and possible applications. The last part of the work describes standards and testing of surge arresters. Thesis includes a scheme of laboratory exercise for testing of a surge arresters.
Design of overvoltage protection for the object with explosive risk
Polášek, Roman ; Novotný, Jan (referee) ; Bátora, Branislav (advisor)
This master´s thesis deals with the designing process of surge protection for the object potentially explosive atmospheres and according to a set of standards ČEN EN 62305 and ČSN EN 60079. This work consists of four main parts. The first part deals with the theory of lightning and surges. Subsequently, in the second part is devoted to the theory of protection against these phenomena and proposals for external and internal lightning protection and surge. This chapter also deals with more demands on electrical installations in hazardous areas. The third part deals with the analysis of the risks to the subject paint and according to ČSN EN 62305-2 ed.2 and at the conclusion of the study is a proposal for external lightning protection and internal surge protection.
