Očenášková, Petra
Očenášková, P. Resource Management in a Selected Company. Bachelor’s thesis. Brno: Mendel University, 2019. The bachelor thesis is focused on resource management in the company Notino, s.r.o. It is dividend into two parts, the first of which deals with literary research. This part of the thesis pays attention to planning, existence, classification and control of resources, as well as costs, systems and models that ensure proper resource management. The second part of the work deals directly with the company. At the beginning of this chapter, the current state of resource management in the company is analysed. For data protection reasons, it was not possible to create an ABC analysis. Only an illustrative example was created. Then the EOQ model was applied to determine optimal indicators for the best-selling item in terms of number of pieces. These indicators include optimal supply of resources, total costs and supply cycle rate. At the end of the thesis, the current situation of the company is compared with the calculated optimal situation.
Population viability analysis of endangered species in Czech Republic
Šťastná, Andrea ; Helman, Karel (advisor) ; Bašta, Milan (referee)
Diploma thesis analyzes the viability of the selected species populations in the Czech Republic. The thesis is divided into two main parts. The first part contains a stochastic model simulating possible scenarios of the Eurasian lynx population size in the Czech Republic. For this model program Vortex was used. The second part is focused on Time series analysis of the Grey Partridge and the Common Kingfisher population, where data was obtained from the Czech Society for Ornithology. This analysis aims on identification of factors that may affect the viability of the two bird species.
Optimization of inventory in the distribution center retail chains
Kříž, Jan ; Fábry, Jan (advisor) ; Kořenář, Václav (referee)
The aim of this work is to create a functional model for stochastic inventory control planning. The assessment of demand will occur as individual items and the model with regard to other factors, such as ordering and delivery windows, the optimal order quantity and reorder point. For this work there are used two groups of products which will be subsequently demonstrated their differences in their ordering. With this model the distribution center will minimize the total costs and maintain the level of service above the required level. The condition is also user-friendly service model which guarantees the possibility of using the outcome of this work in the real run inventory management on the distribution center.
Solving optimization problems using Monte Carlo method
Švehla, Pavel ; Jablonský, Josef (advisor) ; Dlouhý, Martin (referee)
The goal of the text is to communicate basic principles of Monte Carlo method and its application in solving linear programming problems with uncertain parameters. Monte Carlo method is widely used in various areas of science. However, the document focuses mainly on usage in economic applications. Nature of the second part is purely practical. It clearly describes finding solution of stochastic model using Crystal Ball software and its embedded solver -- OptQuest. Ambition of this work is also to be a brief Czech version of Crystal Ball user guide.
