Every chapter contains the comparison of the storyline of an inscenation and historical facts (i.e. the approach of scriptwriters to ancient realia and the procedure during its reception); it further contains the circumstances of an inscenation's origin, if contemporary critics know them from available sources and the acceptance of an inscenation. The work is also complemented by a chapter, which specifies the basis of television aesthetics. Keywords Antiquity, ancient, Greece, Rome, television, dramatic production, Oldřich Daněk, Ferdinand Peroutka, Jiří Šotola, Jiří Hubač, reception.
