Secondary school studying in transformation of times
KASTLOVÁ, Martina
The main aim of this dissertation (thesis) is to conduct a survey of the high school education through the history and put into the context the historical development and it's infuence on the studying. I would like to subsequently confornt this piece of knowledge with the current situation. This is also a kind of probe into the students life. In more detail I'm focussed on the J.V. Jirsik's grammar school in Ceske Budejovice. This college, thanks to it's wide and diverse history and also thanks to it's well preserved archives, provides a complete view of the secondary school tuition acroos history in our region. In the theoretical part of my work I'm specifying the different problems and difficulties of the high school education, which we can see through the history and also at the present time. In the practical part I would like to verify my discovered facts and complete these with other findings. The main contribution of my work lies in presenting analysis and subsequent deduction of my findings regarding the above mentioned subject. I believe my findings could be a great help and contribution to the social pedagogy field.
Economy of procrastination
Hon, Jakub ; Houdek, Petr (advisor) ; Doležalová, Antonie (referee)
The size and intensity of procrastination is influenced by various factors including local environment. The conditions set for elaborating homework, that were exactly the same for both high school and university students, brought up different results. These results were based on an experiment (N=111), which was replicated from a study (D. Ariely and K. Wertenbroch, 2002). The best results achieved were from high school students while put under pressure by submitting more homework on a specific date. This fact varied significantly from university students. Also there is a positive influence of age and maturing on the women's final grade. The precondition for divergent influence of different teacher's gender on men and women was not disproved.
