Verification of a set of exercises aimed at releasing the fascia using the foam roller
KVĚTOŇ, Daniel
This graduation thesis verifies a pre-prepared stack of exercises, which was compiled in the bachelor's thesis and its effect on proper posture. Exercises with an exercise aid took place using a foam roller and a ball. 8 probands underwent the experiment, the study program Physical Education and Sport. Two test and evaluation methods were used for verification. The first method is a test file from Gray Cook (Functional Movement Screen), the second method of verification is the evaluation of the character according to Jaroš and Lomíček. Probands underwent initial measurements and were followed by an 8-week exercise, the exercise took place twice a week. The exercise consisted of 30 exercises, which were divided into 3 exercise units. After 8 weeks of practice, the verification was identical to the initial tests (FMS, evaluation of the figure of Jaroš and Lomíček). The t-test and Cohen's d statistics were used for comparison. In both tests, improvement was noted in 7 probands. The work shows that exercising with foam rollers and balls has a positive effect on.
Administrative workers' neck triggerpoints and possibility of their kinesiotaping
KANDLÍKOVÁ, Kristýna
The thesis deals with the topic of occurrence of trigger points in the area of nape at administrative workers. The aim of the thesis was to give an idea of occurrence of reflective changes in muscles overstrained by the area of nape and show possibilities of particular therapy methods. Reflective changes in the area of nape arise mainly because of imbalance between static position while working with computer and compensatory motion activity. The thesis is devided into two parts, theoretical and practical. Theoretical part deals with the trigger points, their characteristics, origin, treatment, examination and their occurrence in particular muscles in the area of nape. Next section is focused on the method of kinesiotaping, its history, effects, possibilities and application techniques of kinesio tape. A very last topic of theoretical part is ergonomics when working with computer, risks of this activity, ergonomic demands, correct and alternative sitting position and compensatory exercise during work. Practical part was done by quality research. Research team was made by 4 probands. Research was done by case interpretation. Each case interpretation contains case history, entry analysis, description of particular therapies and final analysis. Kinesio tape was applied at two probands for one month. The other two probands went through individual therapies twice a week during one month. The research showed that both methods kinesiotaping as well as individual kinesiotherapy influence positively proband´s health. There was objective and subjective improvement at all four probands. This bachelor thesis can help physiotherapists as well as students of physiotherapy to orient better in an issue of trigger points in the area of nape and possibilities of their influence. It can also help to inform non-professionals how to prevent these problems with better ergonomic modification of working space and with compensation of sitting job by exercise.
The formation of algic zones on hands while riding a spinning bike
Firstová, Kateřina ; Pánek, David (advisor) ; Pavlů, Dagmar (referee)
Title: The formation of algic zones on hands while riding a spinning bike Objectives: The aim of the work is verification of changes of nociception in pre-defined points in the cyclists hands during one hour's spinning lesson. Methods: A total of 13 participants (9 female, 4 male), aged between 20-50 years old, took part in this study. First personal data was collected using a structured questionnaire. Subsequently, the pain threshold in the palms and palmar sides of the fingers of both hands was measured using algometer Algometer type II, from the company Somedic Sales AB. The acquired data was then statistically evaluated and compared by Pearson correlation quotient and analysis of variance ANOVA. A comparison of the pain treshold before and after the spinning lesson, related to gender, dominant and non-dominant hand and the age of participants, was eventually carried out. Results: After an hour of spinning had occured, in all measured points there was a reduction in pain threshold with an average of 12.83%. This change was the same in all of the measured points, which means that there was no overloading of one hand or any group of the points. The statistical evaluation has shown, that the change of the pain threshold is not dependent on the gender of the participants, and it is not statistically...
Influence of compensatory exercises in hockey players focused on pain conditions of back
SKRYJA, Libor
The theory is aimed to familiarize the given issues. This part describes the basic anatomy of the spine, including the biomechanics of walking. Great attention is given to the sensorimotor stimulation and the options of its usage. The practical part was processed by means of qualitative research. The research part includes 5 respondents who play ice hockey and who suffer from back pain. In the practical part the anamnesis was removed and a functional diagnosis was executed. Standing was examined by complexion and a dynamic test in the standing position was carried to verify the possible infringement of the musculoskeletal system. Another two parts were testing of the shortened and weakened muscle groups and the stereotype of activation of specific muscle groups. The probands were educated on the issue by means of pictures and text; others additionally underwent palpation examination including the application of soft techniques and the use of PIR. The therapy included five visits over some time. Some probands were educated on the possible activation of HSS in the future therapies; a practical demonstration including exercises was demonstrated to some of the probands. At the end of each visit (15) a visual analogue scale (VAS) was collected to evaluate the pain perception. Some probands were examined, rehabilitated and assessed in groups, some as individuals. In terms of overall assessment of the possible improvements in removing the issue an output test of functional diagnosis was carried out and VAS was collected after the final fifth visit. The data were obtained by collecting VAS during the individual visits and through these data an overall pain perception in the context of possible removal was evaluated. The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to survey and process how back pain can be affected. The collected data shows that all the individuals who underwent group or individual therapy achieved a positive result. Back pain is typical when having poor posture and the increasing tension in the muscle tissue and the formation of so-called trigger points (TrPs) occurs.
