This master thesis deals with the input assumptions an individual had to fulfill in order to be officially considered as a dancing master. Particular aspects related to organizing dance courses are covered as well (dancing master as the main organizer in his dance school or without it, or dancing master only as a pedagogue while someone else organizes dance courses). The profession of a dancing master is analyzed in the context of particular activities in which dancing masters of 20th century were involved. The aim was also to gain an idea about the social status and the prestige of the dancing master?s profession.
