Walking aids - review
Gazda, Ondřej ; Mašek, Petr (referee) ; Krejsa, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis is focused on walking aids. Exoskeletons an active (robotic) orthosis have achieved great development since its inception and have a large range of application. In this thesis I will focus on active orthosis that are intended for the disabled and the elderly. Described are the concepts of walking aids and recently implemented projects. Part of this thesis is an evaluation criteria proposal and evaluating of each concept according to these criteria. In the end the main developmental progress and problems yet to be overcome are summarized.
The Impact of Erigo Robotic System Therapy in Patients after Spinal Cord Injury
Tůmová, Kateřina ; Pětioký, Jakub (advisor) ; Janatová, Markéta (referee)
The Impact of Erigo Robotic System Therapy in Patients After Spinal Cord Injury Abstract: This bachelor thesis aims to shed light on the effects of Erigo robotic system therapy in patients after spinal cord injury. Currently, careful attention is devoted to research seeking new ways to cure or treat spinal cord injury. Even though we are just beginning to understand neuroregeneration processes, new rehabilitation robotic systems and devices are gradually starting to occupy a significant role especially in early rehabilitation after spinal cord injury. The first part of this thesis describes spinal cord injuries with a focus on health implications and complications the injured person has to come to terms with. Employing robot-assisted therapy in early rehabilitation stages can prevent a number of problems. By doing so, such therapy can improve the patients' functional condition, self-reliance their recovery and return to ordinary life. The use of robotic systems is becoming a standard in many rehabilitation facilities. This bachelor thesis will focus on the frequently used Erigo robotic system and on evaluating the effects of Erigo therapy. The thesis will describe the functions of the Erigo and its advantages. Moreover, several aspects of focus and evaluation criteria will be identified. These aspects will...

Nursing care after spinal injury followed by plegia from the view of the patient and his family.
ČELOUDOVÁ, Nela
This thesis focuses on nursing care after a spinal injury which is followed by paralysis from the patient's and his family's point of view. Spinal or spinal cord injury is a very serious disability that influences patient's life. Depending on the type of the injury and its location in the spinal segments, loss of motoric, sensory and autonomous functions occurs. The nursing care for patients with spinal injuries is a very complicated and long term matter as much for the nursing personnel as for the patients themselves. Two goals were set for this thesis. The first one was to find out if the family is ready for taking care of a paralysed patient in a home environment post hospital release. Second goal was focusing on how patients with post injury paralysis perceive nursing care. The bachelor thesis was processed using qualitative research. The data was collected using the method of semi-structured interviews of patients with paralysis caused by spinal injuries and their family members. The results of the research show that the awareness of family members is small and the information submitted is considered insufficient. Information was missing both form the nursing care and administrative point of view. In addition, the research shows that patients with post-traumatic plegia are satisfied with the nursing care provided and that the communication with nurses is evaluated positively. Another piece of information resulting from the research is that the patient's family was prepared for home care of a paralysed individual only partially and the most significant complications come from the technical side of preparedness. This thesis is outlining the awareness of patients and their families after a spinal injury occurs. It is focusing on caring for the patients in their home environment, in a hospital or a rehabilitation facility.
