Contemporary city

The thesis deals with the design of the development in the town of Frenštát pod Radhoštěm. The location is an unused area between Záhuní and Vávrová streets. The proposal presents an idea of the contemporary city in the context of the historical center of Frenštát. The new development emphasizes the creation of residential public spaces as well as plenty of greenery. The diploma thesis is partly based on the urban planning proposal of the pre-diploma project, which was modified. Part of the work is an urban study, and in more detail the work is devoted to the design - an architectural study of three types of apartment buildings that are used in the area. These are houses on the newly proposed Dolní Rynko square, detached villas on a slope and terraced apartment buildings on Záhuní Street. The principles can be applied to other objects within the street or city. The proposed buildings are mainly used for housing, and the premises are also used for trade, services and offices. The proposal also includes solutions for public spaces and streets, urban greenery and parking.

The compact city - rehabilitation of the urban area surrounding the historic center of Brno

The subject of this thesis is urban solution for part of Zábrdovice. The area is located between the streets Cejl, Radlas and river Svitava with the idea of using in the long term. The basic prerequisite for the work is a change in financial circumstances on the investigated area. The result is a new definition of functional areas in the territories and linking the whole territory wíth the river and the historic town center. Also disclosure of the river Svitava, as well as the recovery of the Svitava drive. The aim is to propose a rational structure that will complement the existing territory and will link it with other parts of the city. The result should be efficient and effective area.
