Fluorescence of soil and lignite humic substances
Konečná, Soňa ; Pospíšilová, Ľubica (referee) ; Fasurová, Naděžda (advisor)
The purpose the diploma thesis was to determine main fluorophores of soil and lignite humic substances using methods of 2D synchronous fluorescence spectroscopy (SFS) and 3D SFS. These fluorescence methods are frequently used for characterization multifluorophore systems. Measured synchronous spectra were compared with standards IHSS. Next to that the aim was to find differences between chosen samples of humic and fulvic acids.
Physicochemical characterization of soil humic substances isolated from modal brown soil
Churina, Iuliia ; Doskočil, Leoš (referee) ; Enev, Vojtěch (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the physicochemical characterization of soil humic substances isolated from brown earth modal based on the international IHSS procedure. Humic substances are organic compounds occurring in soil and have a significant influence on soil processes and properties. The aim of this work is to obtain detailed information on the physical and chemical properties of humic substances such as mean molecular weight (Mr), spectral characteristics, elemental composition and thermal stability. Soil humic substances samples were characterized by thermal techniques such as thermogravimetric (TGA) and elemental analysis (EA). Different instrumental methods such as UV/Vis spectrometry, infrared spectrometry and fluorescence spectrometry were used to analyze the samples. The results of this work can contribute to a better understanding of soil processes and properties, which can lead to improved agricultural production and environmental protection.

Study of structure and chemical composition of soil humic substances isolated from humic podzol
Enev, V. ; Klučáková, M. ; Novák, František
The aim of this work was study chemical composition and structure of soil humic substances (HS). Object of our study were three samples HS which were isolated from Humic Podzol (locality Krkonoše, Czech Republic). Isolation of HS was performed according to the procedure recommended by the International Humic Substances Society. All samples of HS were characterized by elemental analysis (EA), ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy (UV/Vis), infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and steady-state fluorescence spectroscopy. Absorption coefficients (E.sub.ET./sub./E.sub.BZ./sub., E.sub.2./sub./E.sub.3./sub. and E.sub.4./sub./E.sub.6./sub.) of HS were calculated from the absorbance values. Fluorescence coefficients (Milori index and Zsolnay index) of HS were calculated from the area of the emission spectra.
