Study of Electrode Materials for Sodium-ion Batteries
Varmužová, Zdeňka ; Binar, Tomáš (referee) ; Libich, Jiří (advisor)
The content of this thesis is an introduction and presentation to the issue of sodium-ion batteries and a description of production of the own electrode material and its subsequent electrochemical characterization. It deals with the historical development of electrochemical sources of electrical energy from the first batteries to the current types. Study then discusses lithium-ion type batteries, which are closely related to the development of the studied sodium-ion batteries. From the point of view of sodium-ion batteries, the thesis focuses on their electrode materials, especially on anode materials based on sodium titanates. The thesis describes a synthesis of a sodium titanate and production of a negative electrode for sodium-ion battery application and construction of a test cell. The thesis then proposes and evaluates measurements verifying the properties of prepared sample of sodium titanate.
Study of intercalation properties of negative electrode materials
Minda, Jozef ; Kazda, Tomáš (referee) ; Libich, Jiří (advisor)
The bachelor thesis deals with the research of intercalating properties of negative electrode materials for lithium-ion and sodium-ion accumulators. The main focus of this work is on the kinetic aspects associated with the diffusion processes of lithium in graphitic negative electrode material and sodium in titanates materials in relation to the electrochemical parameters. By comparing the materials in terms of kinetic properties expressed by the diffusion coefficient with using of electrochemical impedance spectroscopy in the state of the base material and after creating the passive layer on the electrode, it is possible to determine the application possibilities of the materials and the dependence on the electrochemical parameters. In the thesis is designed a procedure for electrodes preparation, measurement and evaluation of monitored parameters. Within the experimental part, the structural and electrochemical parameters and diffusion coefficients of the studied materials are determined by the proposed method.
Negative Electrode for Sodium-ion batteries
Šimek, Antonín ; Jaššo, Kamil (referee) ; Libich, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis contains general introduction to the issue of batteries, their basic principles and distribution. It is mainly focused on the research of electrode materials for negative electrodes of sodium-ion batteries, which do not use lithium for their function. Thesis is also focused on lithium-ion batteries, because their development is closely linked to sodium-ion batteries. The practical part mainly contains the synthesis and characteristics of sodium metatitanate, which is used as active material in negative electrode mass.
Negative Electrode for Sodium-ion batteries
Šimek, Antonín ; Bača, Petr (referee) ; Libich, Jiří (advisor)
This master’s thesis is focused on the research of negative electrode materials for sodium-ion batteries. It contains a general introduction to the issue of batteries, their brief historical development, basic operating principles, key parameters and classification. Attention is paid to lithium-ion batteries, which are the most used technology today. Sodium-ion batteries as their potential replacement, especially in the field of energy storage from renewable sources, are based on lithium-ion technology. Promising candidates for the material for the negative electrode of sodium-ion batteries are sodium titanates. Their synthesis and subsequent electrochemical characterization of electrodes using sodium titanate as the active material are included in the practical part of this work.
Negative electrode for sodium-ion batteries.
Šimek, A.
This work is primarily focused on the development of negative electrodes for sodium-ion batteries. This type of battery does not use lithium for its operation and could therefore be a promising successor to lithium-ion batteries in selected areas. Particular attention is paid to sodium titanates, which serve as an active material in the negative electrode mass.
