The Meaning of Gender in (for) the Social Theory of Pierre Bourdieu
Čepelová, Hedvika ; Havelková, Hana (advisor) ; Hasmanová Marhánková, Jaroslava (referee)
This thesis concerns about how the concept of gender interacts in broader social theory of Pierre Bourdieu. Main interest lays on the potentiality to extend useful practical and theoretical perspectives of Bourdieu into feminist thinking, as well as on the feminist critical assesment of Pierre Bourdieu's theory and possible answers on it. Selected feminist views on Bourdieu's theory and on some of its concepts (e.g. habitus or disposition) and the view of Bourdieu on feminism as a critical theory and political movement will be analysed. The thesis follows primary literature written by Bourdieu, using the critical arguments of Toril Moi and Leslie McCall as two main pillars. First, the potentiality of Bourdieu's theory to address emancipation, universality and overcoming essentialist and non-essentialist positions of feminism will be discused. Second, I am focusing on the relations between gender, social order, capital and distinctive/distributive mechanism. Finally the relationship between the terms production and reproduction in Bourdieu's theory will be elaborated and some possible points to feminist critical thinking as well as to Bourdieu's theory will be made. Klíčová slova: Pierre Bourdieu, feminism, gender, habitus, capital, social order, distinction

The Order of Libertarian Society
Chudoba, Matěj ; Pavlík, Ján (advisor) ; Vlček, Miroslav (referee)
This thesis discusses the possibility of social order based strictly on market and liberty principles, thus without a state hegemony. Firstly It's said that the rules of social order don't have to be necessarily products of legislation. That implies that stateless society doesn't mean that rules don't exist at all. Next the thesis explains fundamental principles of libertarian ethics -- self-ownership, homesteading and non-aggression principle. These principles give us the answer why state is an institution incompatible with individuals' rights. In the last chapter, thesis discusses the possibilities of private providing of some public services and goods, which are provided by the state these days. Conclusion is that these public goods don't differ from any other goods provided on private basis, so institution of state isn't that vital as we are forced to believe.
Roma school children in primary and primary practical schools - reasons for the differences in the education
STROPNICKÁ, Kristýna
This bachelor thesis concern the problems involved in educating Roma children. Specifically, the goal of this study is to point out the effect that social order of the Roma family has on the quality and equal opportunities in the education their children receive in the town of Vimperk. The theoretical part of this paper will explore the development of the social and cultural life of the Roma minority and their subsequent social order in the Czech Republic. For my theoretical position, I have chosen the work of Pavel Barša, whose theory concludes that there are three major reasons responsible for Roma exclusion: socioeconomic, cultural and political. I will attempt to describe the social and economic situation of Roma families generally and analyse the social consequences economic, cultural and political exclusion has on the Roma minority nationally and, on the Vimperk society. Additionally, I will attempt to describe the Roma community´s traditional idea of education and specifically, the education of their children. The analytical part of the paper will study the reasons given why some children in Vimperk are educated in the primary school while others are placed in the primary practical sector. With the help of questionnaires and face-to-face interviews, I will try to determine the reasons for the differences in the education of Roma children.
