Work Integration Social Enterprise as a Tool of an Active Employment Policy.
Dudáková, Zuzana ; Vrzáček, Petr (advisor) ; Šťastná, Jaroslava (referee)
Social economy is a quickly developing segment of the national economy worldwide. An increasing number of both profit and non-profit organisations in the Czech Republic adhere to the principles of social economy. The legislation for social enterprises has not been drafted yet, which, first, is a drag on the development of social enterprising in the private sector, and, second, hampers its acknowledgement on the part of government institutions which, lacking the legal framework, are not capable of working with this phenomenon. Hence, a legal framework should be the first step towards support to social enterprising, in particular a framework on social integration enterprises employing people with a remarkably restricted access to the labour market. The goal of this thesis is to assess the validity of formerly proposed indicators to identify the characteristic features of social enterprises for the Czech Republic and to present proposals for potential adjustments to them. The thesis also identifies areas in which support to social enterprises is necessary so that they would be able to comply with the individual indicators. Keywords Indicator, people disadvantaged on the labour market, social economy, social enterprise, work integration social enterprise, social entrepreneur.
Social Entrepreneurship and its Development in the South Bohemian Region
VALÁŠKOVÁ, Linda
This bachelor thesis deals with social entrepreneurship and its aim is to map the state of existing social enterprises in the South Bohemian region and to find out whether they meet the conditions set out in the Factual Intention of the Social Entrepreneurship Act. The partial goal of the thesis is to open a dialogue on the legislative regulation of social enterprises. A qualitative research strategy, a questioning method and a semi-structured interview technique were conducted to meet the objectives. The research sample was determined by purposeful sampling and further obtained by the snowball method. Seven social enterprises operating in the South Bohemian Region participated in the research. The thesis consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part of the thesis introduces social entrepreneurship as such and incorporates it into the context of social economy for proper understanding. In the practical part of the thesis there are presented grant projects in the South Bohemian Region supported by the European Social Fund from the call for Support of Social Entrepreneurship and described individual social enterprises involved in the research. Furthermore, the answers of informants to individual questions from interviews are analyzed and compared. The last part evaluates the fulfillment of the goals of the thesis and answers the research questions concerning the fulfillment of conditions and the opinion of the managers of social enterprises in the South Bohemian Region on the Factual Intention of the Social Entrepreneurship Act. The contribution of the work is seen in finding the answer to the need for legislative anchoring of social entrepreneurship from the perspective of managers of social enterprises in the South Bohemian Region. The thesis also provides feedback to the enterprises concerned whether they fulfill the conditions of the Factual Intention of the Social Business Act. The general public will then get a comprehensive overview of social entrepreneurship and social enterprises, whether in general or in the South Bohemian Region.
