Sýkorová, Julie ; Maaytová, Alena (advisor) ; Gajdošová, Eva (referee)
This bachelor´s thesis entails information regarding the concept of basic income. It explains the definition of the concept, its theoretical framework and historical roots. The concept of basic income offers a new view at social security solution and tries to face the new challenges of the 21st century such as the rise of unemployment due to automation and persisting poverty. The thesis provides the advantages and disadvantages of that solution and introduces its debated format throughout the world as well as the various potential ways to fund this idea. The practical application, however, is focused on the Czech Republic. Although this topic is highly discussed throughout the world, this purpose is still a periphery concept throughout most of the Czech Republic. The thesis suggests a possible reform of the present social security including basic income implementation and makes an elementary estimation of its social and financial impacts. The final section generally analyses the feasibility of basic income innovation and discusses its viability within the Czech Republic.
