Zdislava of Lemberk - Life and Work

Diploma thesis "Zdislava of Lemberk - Life and Work" delas with whole life and work of St. Zdislava of Lemberk based on the available information provided by the existing literature. It also tries to create a comprehensive overview of her multifaceted life, activites and service for the Czech nation based on the information about her family, especially her mother Sibyla of Křižanov and her husband Havel of Lemberk. It tries to confirm the thesis that although there is not much direct information about Zdislava of Lemberk, she certainly represented an expectional personality with unique characteristics for her time. The first chapter of this work describes the time of medieval Bohemia, in which Zdislava of Lemberk lived and represented herself to the Czech people at that time. The second chapter delas with Church orders, especially the Dominican order with which Zdislava of Lemberk is still associated today. The third chapter deals with the life of Zdislava's parents and husband and their activites in the Czech surroundings, which it also associates with the personality of Zdislava. This thesis aims to capture the life and activities of the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Cyril and Methodius from its foundation until present time. Utilising both the archives of the congregation and secondary literature this thesis attempts to chart the complete history of the congregation. Current state of the congregation is described primarily by using the method of oral history, this method being the most suitable for this purpose. The aim of this thesis is also to highlight the pastoral and social workings of the Congregation, which has been its foundation since the beginning of the Congregation and continues to this day. Early Methodists Social Work against the background of social and political-economic history of England

The diploma thesis "Early Methodists Social Work against the background of social and political-economic history of England" deals with the causes of the origin of Methodism, and most importantly it deals with the description of John Wesley's social activites. He tried to confirm the thesis that the social feeling of Methodists at that time also was, besides other things, a reaction to the relationship of the Church of England to the needy and suffering ones. The first part is about the social, political and economic history of England during the 16-18th centuries, which are instrumental in looking into and understanding the social conditions of that time. The second part, and the pivotal one, briefly introduces the causes of Methodism as well as it slighty mentions John Wesley's motivations of his social feeling and actions. The major part of the chapter relates to individual social activities that Wesley considered to be significant ones and that he applied in practise with other Methodists. It is evident that Wesley's social work was strongly driven and determined as well as it was rightly directed towards its aim at the needful ones. Social and Charity Activities in the town of Milevsko and in its surroundings between 1918-1938

This thesis deals with social and charity activities in the town of Milevsko and in its surroundings between 1918-1938. The first chapter describes charity in a longer historical context from the beginning of Christianity through the Middle Ages to the Early modern period and subsequently the birth of it in Czechoslovakia. The second chapter defines characteristics of the first republic period and identifies free important turning points in the development of Czechoslovakia; firstly the birth of the new state, secondly the economic growth of the state and thirdly the financial crisis of the 1930s. The third chapter notices the situation in the town of Milevsko itself and in the Milevsko district between 1918-1938. It presents the main activities of individual institutions, clubs and religious organizations and describes interventions of the state in basic social problems. The fourth chapter focuses on several situations concerning lives of people from Milevsko and their mutual help. The fifth chapter reveals activities of three personalities who, each of them in her or his own way, participated in the life of the society at that time from the point of view of the charity.

The Bachelor Thesis is concentrated on the fulfilment of the qualification requirements of the personnel of social departments of the municipalities in the South-Bohemian Region. Its theoretical part deals with the professional profile of a social worker, their roles and competences, the possibilities of social and further education of social workers. Its practical part contains the analysis of professional qualification of social workers before the accession to employment, analysis of their current education degree achieved, analysis of their current studies and the possibilities of further professional development. The aim of the thesis was to find out how the social workers meet the qualification requirements prescribed by the act on social services. Partial aim was to analyze the situation in the possibilities of further development of social workers.
