From a Dumb Boiler to a Smart One Using a Smart Socket
Mitura, Jacek ; Zemčík, Pavel (referee) ; Materna, Zdeněk (advisor)
Nowadays, the world of smart devices is growing very fast. Nevertheless, it remains difficult to acquire smart device for water heating applications. The usual reasons complicating this fact include the lack of the possibility of connection to the central control unit, or the need to replace the entire boiler with a new smart model. In both cases, the additional disadvantage is the higher price of such a solution. Therefore, the aim of this bachelor's thesis is to create a comprehensive and affordable solution, ensuring the conversion of an existing boiler to smart using a smart socket and a central server controlling the household. The solution uses a daily consumption forecast based on an exponential moving average to save electricity.
Smart Plug
Šebesta, Ondřej ; Szabó, Zoltán (referee) ; Marcoň, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor thesis discusses the design of a smart plug. The theoretical part focuses on the individual parts and functions of smart plugs, and their functional possibilities are analysed together with the related fabrication perspectives. The practical portion concentrates on the selection of appropriate components and proposes a complete design of the hardware and software of a smart plug, including a web server for its control. The practical portion also describes a calibration of a measuring part and compares measured values with values from another measuring device.
Smart Home
Konstantinov, Glib ; Musil, Petr (referee) ; Mlýnek, Petr (advisor)
The bachelor’s thesis deals with the analysis of intelligent devices and the possibilities of their usage in the household. Furthermore, the possibilities of using electricity from a photovoltaic power station and their comparison in terms of financial savings and efficiency of use are described. Moreover, in the theoretical part, a smart metering is described and methods of monitoring electricity consumption from classic electricity meters are presented. The practical part focuses on measuring the consumption of electricity by home appliances using a smart plug with the aim of their categorization, measuring the quality of electricity using a quality monitor MEg44PAN. The output of the bachelor thesis is the visualization of ways how intelligent elements can be implemented into existing buildings, smart homes and various combinations of appliances and resources.
Concept of smart home energy monitoring and management
Kolouch, Petr ; Wasserbauer, Vojtěch (referee) ; Vrána, Michal (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with smart metering of home. The introduction of the thesis deals with the approach of this issue. It then explains the principle of smart socket operation and the possibility of linking smart sockets with renewable sources. In the next part of the thesis there is a thorough search of existing smart systems in the Czech Republic and abroad. In the practical part, 3 commercial smart sockets were measured and evaluated. The last part is the creation of the concept of smart socket-based on microchip ADE7753. Subsequently, the implementation of the measuring device is detaily described.
