Labudová, Sára ; Šamánková, Karolína (advisor) ; Mazaná, Vladislava (referee)
This bachelor's thesis focuses on shadow education in the Republic of Korea and its impact on South Korean students' lives. First of all, it describes the development of the modern education system in Korea since 1945 to the present and the emergence of Korean education fever. Afterwards, it describes the development of shadow education following the entrance exam policy and measures implemented by Korean government towards this education. It also explains the reasons for Korean society's demand for private education. In case of this type of education, the thesis mainly focuses on hagwons and their positive and negative effects. This thesis examines how students perceive private education and how this education affects their everyday life based on my survey conducted through a questionnaire.
