Title: Immediate effect of foam rolling of selected muscle groups on postural stability Aims: The aim of this diploma thesis is to demonstrate the effect of single intervention of foam rolling of selected muscle groups on postural stability in young healthy sports population measured by the Neurocom SMART Equitest device. Methods: The project is an experimental pilot study with a total of 34 probands who were randomly divided into experimental and control groups. At the beginning, they all went through the postural stability measurement using the NeuroCom Smart EquiTest System. Three test protocols were selected for the measurement: Motor Control Test (MCT), Limits of Stability (LOS) and Adaptation test (ADT). The experimental group underwent foam rolling of calves, ischiocrural muscles, iliotibial tract, quadriceps, gluteus medius and minimus and erectors of the thoracic spine after the first measurement. Each muscle group was rolled for 1 minute. Immediately after the intervention, postural stability was measured again using the same protocols. The control group took the second measurement 10 minutes after the first measurement. The measured data was processed using Neurocom Balance Manager Software. The measurement results were averaged within each group and processed using MS Excel and then the...
