Etiological agents of scabies in domestic animals (dogs, cats, small mammals)
FILCOVÁ, Kristýna
The literature review, which constitutes the theoretical framework of the bachelor thesis, was based on the study of scientific literature. It contains a summary of causes of scabies in pets (dogs, cats and small mammals) and shows basic information about their morphology, localization within the host, clinical symptoms they produce, and about the methods of diagnostics, therapy and prevention used. The theoretical part also summarizes the most commonly used veterinary antiparasitics in the Czech Republic and their active substances against the causes of scabies. The practical part focused on collecting and processing data of pets infected by scabies in years 2016 - 2020. Attention was paid to the frequency of the infections, the species of pets infected by specific scabies causes and the most common veterinary antiparasitics used against specific scabies species in particular pets. The pet species with the most common disease was cat, which was most commonly infected with Otodectes cynotis (ear mite). The most commonly applied veterinary drug in cats infected with O. cynotis was veterinary preparation Stronghold.

Nosocomial infections are one of the most important indicator of the quality of provided medical care and for this reason medics pay great attention to prevent any kinds of contagion. My thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part is devoted to the disease scabies itself, epidemiological situation, occupational diseases and legislation. In the research part of this thesis i deal with the availability of personal protective equipment, which is important for the prevention of nosocomial infections. Further i follow the health prefesionals knowledge and thein obtaining of necedssary information. The occurrence of nosocomial infection among questioned persons and the percentage of disease scabies are being evaluated as well. From the obtained results i tis obvils that scabies is a common parasitic disease and even that the sings and symptoms are well known, not always this disease is properly diagnosed. Due to the high hygiene standard sof the clients scabies is often confused with other itchy noninfectious disease and that is the reason why...
Epidemiological situation of scabies incidence in the Czech Republic within period 2003 - 2012
KUCHAŘOVÁ, Eliška
Theoretical part of dissertation was written on the basis of studying professional literature. It provides overview of Scabies disease, its epidemiological incidence, transmission, clinical course, diagnostics and also of its treatment. Practical part was formed retrospectively by qualitative research and secondary data analysis. These data were collected from different publications from the State Health Institute in Prague and the Health Information and Statistics Institute in the Czech Republic. The main aim of this dissertation was analyzing the trend of scabies incidence in the Czech Republic within ten years period (2003 2012). Moreover the practical part of this dissertation contains information related to trends of scabies incidence in individual districts of the Czech Republic depending on age, sex, team, seasonal index, or epidemiological scabies incidence as occupational disease. Linear regression was used to assess the incidence trend. Subsequently correlations were ascertained by using method of correlation coefficient calculation. In the research it was found that registered scabies incidence seems to more likely be decreasing from the beginning of followed period (i.e. from the beginning of 2003). According to the seasonal index the most common incidence of this disease within followed period was in October. On the other hand the lowest scabies incidence was in June. The highest sickness rate was recorded in the district Ústí nad Labem with almost 50 cases per 100 000 inhabitants. Scabies as occupational disease belongs to the most common recorded transmissible and parasitic disease in the Czech Republic, mainly at nurses in the hospitals, attendants in retirement homes, in internal wards and in social care institutes. The highest incidence rate was notified in age categories from 5 to 9 years. There exists strong positive linear correlation between scabies incidence and age. Epidemiological scabies incidence in the Czech Republic had two main peaks during period 1965 2012, in 1970 and 1993.
REPORTED CASES OF SCABIES IN KLATOVY REGION FROM 1961 TO 2010
KALČÍKOVÁ, Kateřina
Title of this bachelor thesis is "Reported cases of scabies in Klatovy district from 1961 to 2010". Its theoretical part deals with a description of scabies as an itchy skin parasitic disease, which is still an actual issue worldwide. In the Czech Republic it is the fourth most common infectious disease. This piece of work is focused on anatomy and physiology of skin, morphology of skin changes, etiology and epidemiology of scabies, its clinical image, diagnosis, cure, possible complications and prevention. The practical part composes of quantitative research, for which the method of secondary document analysis was chosen. The data was selected and processed from diaries of infectious diseases and from documents of epidemiological investigation of District Hygiene Station of Pilsen Region - Regional Establishment in Klatovy and from National Health Institute in Prague. The main source of demographic data was public database of Czech statistical office. This part makes a comprehensive overview of the occurrence of reported cases of scabies in Klatovy district in period from 1961 to 2010. The file described on the basis of the annual incidence (per 100 000 inhabitants). Compare the structure of the file (1961 ? 1985 a 1986 ? 2010). I describe a set of terms of age, sex, seasonality and the profession. Comparable data were compared to data for the Czech Republic. Possible causations of different trend in annual incidence of reported cases of scabies in Klatovy district and in the Czech Republic are discussed. The main aim of this work was to get an overview of reported cases of scabies in Klatovy district from 1961 to 2010, and subsequently to compare data of those reported cases with all data available in the Czech Republic, and to make a description of occurrence of reported cases of scabies in Klatovy district in the same period of time, according to age, sex, seasonality and profession. This bachelor thesis can be used as a source of information on scabies morbidity in Klatovy district and the Czech Republic by both professional and laic public.
