Analysis of family formation and dissolution processes using multistate demography modelling
Dušek, Zdeněk ; Rychtaříková, Jitka (advisor) ; Kocourková, Jiřina (referee)
The main aim of this thesis is to analyse the development of the processes of family formation and dissolution in the Czech Republic between 1993 and 2008 using multistate demography. By this method, we analyze probability of transition between individual marriage states and events, which characterise these transitions. The first part of the analysis deals with the population as a whole, while the second part analyses only the part of population in fertile ages. LIPRO program was used to create a model of marital status based on data for the Czech Republic as well as for producing a forecast of population divided by marital status for the years of 2019?2023. Other parts of this thesis support the main aim of the thesis. The level of marriage and divorce rate were analysed between 1993 and 2008 as well as potential factors that could influence the level of above mentioned processes. Rising number of cohabitations could be one of those factors and therefore a special attention is paid to the development of this type of coexistence. Socioeconomic development and family and social policy are mentioned as well, because they could also have significant impact on the processes of formation and dissolution of families. The above mentioned factors and their relationship to the marriage rate are analysed using the...
Porovnání vývoje plodnosti a sňatečnosti v České republice a v Irsku
Blechová, Veronika
The subject of this bachelor thesis is development of fertility rate and marriage in the Czech Republic and Ireland between years 1989 and 2012. The theoretical part generally describes terms as fertility rate, marriage, their basic indicators, factors that influence these demographic processes and historical development of fertility rate and marriage in both countries. Last chapter of the theoretical part gives basic explanation of the time series. Practical part includes comparison of development of fertility rate and marriage, which is implemented by using time series based on the alignment of the trend line and using the average growth rate in the Czech Republic and in Ireland.
Analýza demografického vývoje regionu Tišnovsko
Pařil, Jakub
The subject of this thesis is analysis of the demographic development in the region of Tišnovsko in between 2003 - 2013. It is an attempt to capture the progress and develop-ment of this area in terms of demographic structure and in terms of demographic dynam-ics. The theoretical part of this thesis is focused on a literary review of sources with the de-scription of basic demographic indicators. The practical part is then focused on analysis of concrete data from the monitored area. Some indicators also have prediction of future development, or comparison with the higher territorial units. The thesis is ended with a composite indicator that assesses demographic development in the different municipali-ties of the region.

Seasonal profile of nuptiality, natality and mortality in the Czech republic and international comparison
Jiroušová, Martina ; Rychtaříková, Jitka (advisor) ; Bartoňová, Dagmar (referee)
Seasonal profile of nuptiality, natality and mortality in the Czech republic and international comparison Abstract The aim of this thesis is to capture changes in seasonality of nuptiality, natality and mortality in the Czech Republic and the factors that influence the seasonality. Despite the fact that these changes have been monitored since the 16th (nuptiality) and the 17th century (natality and mortality), the thesis focuses on the period from 1950s to 2012. Czech Republic is then compared with six other countries, with shorter reference period (2005-2012). Seasonal profile is represented by seasonal indexes and their variability is analyzed using the coefficient of variation. Seasonality of marriages was, especially in the 1950s, characterized by the accumulation of marriages in the last months of the year and in April, with later shift to the summer. The minimum was at the beginning of the period in the first quarter of the year and in May and later joined them low values in November and December. Due to superstitions about unhappy marriages, May was a month with a very low seasonal index throughout the period. The highest values of seasonal indexes of live births used to occur in the first half of the year and then shifted, as in the case of weddings, to the summer months. The minimum values did not...
Changes in the marital status in the age group from 15 to 59 years in the Czech Republic after 1930
Boušová, Marie ; Fialová, Ludmila (advisor) ; Bartoňová, Dagmar (referee)
Changes in the marital status in the age group from 15 to 59 years in the Czech Republic after 1930 Abstract The aim of this thesis is to analyze the changes in population structure according to the individual marital statuses. For this analysis sex-specific and age-specific nuptuality rates and multistate life tables were use, in order to be able to describe transitions between the individual marital statuses. In the first part of this thesis the data sources and the methods of creating the transversal increment- decrement life tables were described. Following chapters deal with the historical development of the Czech Republic population since the year 1930 and the trends of nuptuality, divorce and mortality. Second part is dedicated to the analysis of the transitions between the individual marital statuses. The findings of this thesis conclude that people in the individual marital states tend to react similarly to the historical events in Czech Republic, unless some events are purposefully aiming to influence only a part of the population. Key words: nuptuality rate, divorce rate, mortality rate, marital status, multistate demography, transversal increment-decrement life tables, Czech Republic
Nuptiality in some European countries at the end of the 20th century
Vondrušková, Diana ; Fialová, Ludmila (advisor) ; Bartoňová, Dagmar (referee)
Nuptiality in some european countries at the end of the 20th century Abstract The aim of this study is to analyze the regional differences of nuptiality in Europe in the last part of the 20th century and at the beginning of the 21st century. Six states were chosen, each of them should represent specific marriage pattern and area of Europe. It focuses not only on the development of individual indicators of nuptiality, but also causes of changes in marriage behavior and factors that affect the marriage rate. The first part of the study describes the characteristics of family and marriage, including changes of looking at these two institutions over time. Next new theories explaining the attitudes of contemporary society to institution of marriage are presented. The recent changes of marriage patterns can be explained mainly by postponing marriage to higher ages and reducing the intensity of nuptiality.
Family values and their changes affected by the year 1989
Nekvindová, Radka ; Vávra, Martin (advisor) ; Prudký, Libor (referee)
This thesis deals with family and its values. It focuses on changing attitudes to family in the context of social transformation after 1989. At the beginning of the thesis there are defined the basic functions of family and types of families. The following describes the historical evolution of family from the early Middle Ages to the present. It tries to capture the changes associated with the second demographic transition and to describe what this transition was concerned with and if it is linked with the situation in the Czech Republic after 1989. It describes values in general and approaches to research of values. The last part is devoted to analysis of family values, which is done by comparing questions from the three waves of "European Values Study" surveys. The main goal of this thesis was to verify whether people's attitudes to family after 1989 have changed and how it affected demographics.
Methods of analysis of seasonality in demography
Myšáková, Gabriela ; Hulíková Tesárková, Klára (advisor) ; Rychtaříková, Jitka (referee)
Methods of analysis of seasonality in demografy Gabriela Myšáková Abstract The thesis presents statistical methods suited for analysis of seasonality in time-series. Three statistical methods have been thoroughly described, namely the time-series decomposition, the X12−ARIMA method and the cointegration of time-series. Further methods applicable for similar analysis have been briefly discussed as well. Three main methods have been subsequently applied to monthly demographic data for the Czech Republic and chosen European countries by natality, nuptiality and mortality. Seasonality has been discovered in all three demographic events and by using the time-series decomposition and the X12−ARIMA method for time-series lay out to separate units, and those progressions have been track by graphic and verbal interpretation. Cluster analysis has been applied to European countries nuptiality and mortality time-series in order to reveal similarities and dissimilarities among particular countries. All the methods were used onto data set by using appropriate procedures in statistical software SAS.
