This Bachelor's thesis deals with an overview study of constructional and technological principles of plastic products. It includes characteristics and basic division of plastics by methods of application and factors affecting their properties. Except that, technological principles or methods of manufacturing and designing plastic products are mentioned. Next part is focused on principles of designing constructional components, such as chimneys, ribbings, stiffeners and many others. Final part is discussion which summarises utilization of plastics, their economic aspect or demand and production of plastics in the world and in Europe.

This thesis deals with plastics with more focus on thermoplastics, from production, through use, to refurbishment and joining. In the first part of the thesis describes the basic division of plastics used in practice. The second part is focused on thermoplastics, their production and use. Furthermore, this section describes the properties of individual plastic covers some standards, or explanation, according to what is determined. In the third part is evaluated joining plastic parts. The most widely used technologies are described and explained in detail what kinds of welding is appropriate, or where it is better to combine the parts such as adhesive bonding.
