Společenstva korýšů a vířníků v přirozených a revitalizovaných rašeliništích
Pfeifer, Lukáš
The theoretical part of the diploma thesis evaluates the current state of peatlands in the Czech Republic. Peatland were affected by drainage and the subsequent drying due to the peat extraction. There is the effort to restore these localities to their natural character and to protect them at present. The practical part evaluates species composition of mi-crocrustaceans and rotifers of monitored natural and restored peatlands in the Ore Mountains and Šumava. A total of 39 taxa of rotifers and planktonic crustaceans was found. The impact of restoration on these communities was evaluated based on differ-ences in species composition.
Optimalizace intenzivního chovu larev candáta obecného (Sander lucioperca L.)
MORAVA, Jakub
The aim of this master thesis was test, comapre and observe the best density of rotifers (Brachionus plicatilis) for growth and survival of zander (Sander lucioperca) larvae stage in the recirculation aquatic systém (RAS). The secondary experiment tests initial feeding of zander by dint of rotifers and consequently by mix of rotifers and artemia. Main experiment observe effect of different density of rotifers on survive and growth of zander. Other observe parameters such as Fulton´s coeficient, total lenght of fish, weight of fish, etc. Fish was divided into 4 groups with different density of feeding and the control group without feeding. Rotifers has been used in density of 2, 6, 10 and 20 pieces per larva. The best growth in "D" group has been compensate by lower surviving. On the other hand the best ratio of survive has been observe in "C" group, which showed lower growth. The optimal rate of growth and survive has been declared in "B" group, which were feed with dose of 6 pieces rotifers for larva. In the second experiment were observe body changes of zander after initial feeding by rotifers folowed with feeding mix of rotifers and artemia. There were observe successful fulfillment of gas bladder and deformation of fish body and spinal after 40 days of keeping larvae in RAS. In the end of experiment there were also observe defirmations body - for example missing lower jaw, upper jaw or both of them. Spinal deformities occured in the form of scoliosis, lordosis, kyphosis and zig zag distortion. The experiment has shown that unsuccessfully filled gas bladder is closely related to the formation of deformitiy in the zander. Another negative factor that affects the filling of the gas bladder is grease on the surface of the water level, so I recommend installing the grease trap in the fill phase of the gas bladder.
Phenotypic plasticity of planktonic rotifers as a response to predator.
VAJDIAKOVÁ, Nikola
The aim of this thesis is to assemble essential information about phenotypic plasticity of zooplankton, especially planktonic rotifers. More specifically, the thesis is focused on predatorinduced morphological changes. I introduced different types of predators and their behavioral, physiological and morphological impacts on zooplankton. Moreover, I examined the effects of inducible morphological defences on the planctic rotifers.
The community of zooplankton in the pools in inundation area of Lužnice river
ŠEBESTA, Roman
This thesis aims to discuss generally the pools of river with a focus on the Upper Lužnice river maiinly on zooplankton communities, which ooccurs in these locations. Regular sampling of communities in different types of river pools better then identify their species and numerous changes during the year. Thesis deal with samplinng techniques and laboratory processing sampples of the zooplankton to.
Comparison of species composition and dynamics of zooplankton communities in ponds with extensive management.
SEICHERSTEIN, Adam
Dynamics and species composition of zooplankton communities were studied in the three experimental ponds (43, 46, and 48) located in VÚRH JU in Vodňany. In all three ponds was carried out extensive rearing of common carp. Zooplankton samples were collected during three growing seasons (2008, 2009, 2010), usually once in each month. Together with zooplankton sampling, water chemical analyzes were also done. Zooplankton diversity and abundance was mainly influenced by the fish stock.
Effect of food quantity and quality on population growth rate and digestive activity in planktonic rotifers.
ŠTROJSOVÁ, Martina
As homeostatic organisms, rotifers have to use the mechanism to cope with nutrition unbalance in their food. The regulation of digestive enzyme activities as a possible physiological mechanism involved in maintaining of rotifer homeostasis was studied. This study further explored the effect of food quantity and quality on rotifer population growth rate and reproduction.
The role of rotifers by filtration of \kur{Cryptosporidium} in water column
BRŮČKOVÁ, Petra
Filtration abilities of Cryptosporidium parvum oocysts by rotifers (Brachionus calyciflorus) were studied. The filtration rate of rotifers is quick: the passage of oocysts through the digestive system is few minutes only. During the first 10 minutes 24300 of whole amount one million oocysts passed through the digestive system of 100 rotifers. Moreover, 93% of oocysts were death after passage. All oocysts expelled were unable to infect suckling BALB/c mice. Oocysts were degraded in mastax, stomach and intestine. Rotifers can be use for detection of cryptosporidia oocysts in water and they effectively decrease their numbers.
