Profession roles connected by data management
Hamšík, Marek ; Vacek, Martin (advisor) ; Pour, Jan (referee)
In my thesis I focus on the processing of bussiness data, which is referred to as Data governance. It is an area of data management, which is still in development and is not yet understood as a common and standard way to handle bussiness data. In the introduction of the thesis, I define what DG is and how it can be seen from different angles: both from the perspective of people, and from the perspective of the benefits it has for the company. I also deal with the fundamental roles that are defined within the DG and, according to the literature are important to its functioning. Then I focus on the issue of phases definitions, which are important for the implementation of DG into the company from the point of view of both Czech and foreign literature. In the practical part of my thesis I focus on surveys conducted by IBM, SAS, Rand Worlwide and Dataversity and based on the results of these surveys I examine the situation of DG in various companies and in different sectors. In the last part, I focuse on success factors of DG, both in terms of the results of the surveys, as well as from the experience of an expert on the issue of DG Joy. L. Medved.
