Compulsory drug and alcohol treatment - imposition and execution of residential and outpatient treatment

Background: The bachelor thesis deals with the topic of compulsory treatment of alcohol and drug addiction in terms of the imposition and performance of residental and outpatient treatment. Alcohol and anti-toxicomania compulosry treatment is one of the protective measures that can be imposed on an offender if he/she has committed a crime under the influence of or in connection with the use of alcohol or another addictive substance. Objective: The aim of this thesis is to map the course of the compulsory drug and alcohol treatment within the residental and outpatient form, under what circumstances and after what period of time is the form of compulsory treatment changed, or other changes that the law allows. Lastly, the attitude of the professional staff towards this court-imposed measure is examined. Meethods: By transcribing the interview, the results were obtained by descriptive method. The final size of the research sample is six respondents. The information obtained from the semi- structured interview was first recorded on a dictaphone in a mobile device and then converted from spoken word to text form by verbatim transcription. The relation between the menstrual cycle and craving for addictive substances among the female clients of residential treatment.

There are sex differences in the emergence of addiction and drug use. One of the causes of the differences is the effect of female sex hormones, estrogen and progesterone. Their levels in the body can affect both the subjective effects of drugs, as well as craving and the risk of relapse during the addiction treatment process and abstinence. The aim of this work is to examine the influence of the menstrual cycle on craving for addictive substances and to try to map in what period of the menstrual cycle craving occurs most often for women. As a research qualitative design was used, semi-structured interviews with women in residential treatment of addiction (therapeutic community and psychiatric hospital) were used as a method. The research sample consisted of 13 respondents. Two semi-structured interviews were conducted two months apart. Data were analyzed using the tuft creation method. The results point at the existence of a relationship between menstrual cycle and substance craving. Even though the respondents' answers are ambivalent, the most common triggers of craving are unpleasant emotions that occur more frequently in the period before menstruation begins. Alcohol abusers and substance users in rehab and their crimes.

Criminality, that is committed in relation with using alcohol or others illegal addictive substances is affected by series of specific factors. Goal of my work is to explore whether and how relates using of addictive substances with committing of criminal activity by clients with addiction syndrome, undergoing medium-term institutional treatment of addiction. Bachelor thesis named Criminal activity of clients addicted to alcohol and non-alcohol drugs in institutional treatment of addiction in its theoretical part defines individual concepts related to using of addictive substances, criminal activity, which is related to users of addictive substances and also accents description of constitutional treatment. It also mentions ordered institutional treatment. The practical part deals with quality research, analyzing seven interviews with clients in institutional treatment of addiction. Methodology of the research is based on grounded theory, opened and axial coding. The result of the research is finding, that length of drug career does not have to relate with frequency and severity of committed criminal activity.
