ŠÍMOVÁ, Jaroslava
The thesis deals with circumstances that influence relationship between a pedagogue and a pupil at an ethopaedic facility and tries to assess circumstances influencing rate of success and failure of pedagogue?s activities in direct contact with a child at a facility of this type. To assess pedagogue?s activities, children from the Children?s Diagnostic Institute of Homole near the town of České Budějovice were approached. These were children of school age and middle-school age (11-16 years). Qualitative research and the method of an interview were applied in the practical part of the thesis. The interview took place between an interviewer (me) and individual respondents (children). The interviews revealed that pedagogue?s ?success? is influenced not only by his/her equipment, but also by the level of fixation of the problem of a particular child before he/she comes to the Children?s Diagnostic Institute, by the child?s equipment and experience with the police, the Department of Social and Legal Protection of Children (OSPOD), the school that they attended and the family. The obtained findings may help pedagogues improve insight into the whole complex sphere of contacts, direct work with children or relevance of the program.
Current priorities in the care of physiological newborn infants as perceived by mothers in the Maternity Ward.
KUBÁTOVÁ, Klára
The Bachelor paper titled the "Current priorities in the care of physiological newborn infants as perceived by mothers in the Maternity Ward" has the character of a research. The paper itself is split into two sections - the theoretical one and the practical one. The theoretical section offers a comprehensive picture of care given to physiological newborns in Maternity Wards. Moreover, this section provides a general outline of problems encountered in establishing a profound emotional bond between the mother and the baby during their first moments together. The practical section aimed to disclose the mothers' wishes and expectations for their time spent with the baby in the Ward. The paper's objective of revealing the priorities in the care of physiological newborn infants as perceived by mothers in the Maternity Ward has been met. To tackle the subject and to attain the objective specified above, the author chose to apply the qualitative method of investigation supported by non-standardized interviews held with three women coming through the postnatal period of puerperium and five women who delivered the year before. The results allowed for answering these research questions: Are the mothers interested in obtaining more information from the medical staff on the care of physiological newborns while they stay in the Maternity Ward? Are the mothers satisfied with the current system of providing care to physiological newborns in the Ward? What do the mothers see as priority one in the care of physiological newborns delivered in the Ward? Results of the Bachelor paper and the related findings can be beneficial for future students of midwifery. Besides, the paper can be found a useful source of information by even experienced children's nurses. Included in the paper is a piece of material intended to educate the beginner midwives in the basic principles of communication with the mothers of physiological newborns.

Involuntary Client in Social Work
VÍŠKOVÁ, Michaela
The objective of my work is to survey what kinds of social work tools motivate, from the view of a social worker, an involuntary client to change his/her current situation and start working with a social worker. In the theoretical part of my diploma work I first deal with general topics, I focus on the typology of clients and relation and communication with clients. Within the section that is dedicated to the involuntary client solely I deal with the characteristics of such a client and ethical dilemmas in respect of the relation to this client. Furthermore, I present some recommendations for work with an involuntary client and I concentrate more on motivating the client. The chapter that deals with specific features of social work with addictive substances users, as one of the groups of involuntary clients, forms an extensive part of the theoretical part. In order to achieve the set objective, I have chosen a combination of quantitative and qualitative research. The data have been collected by means of anonymous questionnaires and non-standardized dialogues with 144 social workers in the Vysočina Region. Within the research I study the experience of social workers with work with involuntary clientele, further I focus on methods and techniques used at work with involuntary clients and on theoretical bases of this work as well. The survey also aims to determine the diversity in the approach of social workers in respect of voluntary and involuntary clientele. Following the evaluation of the survey outputs it can be said that a majority of social workers meet involuntary clients at their work. However, not all the workers consider the use of a specific approach to such clients important. A possible improvement in this respect may, in my opinion, be brought by educational courses that focus on the issues of involuntary clientele. Supervision plays an irreplaceable role here, too. The results of my diploma work may be used for the needs of further research, teaching and in order to enhance the knowledge of the issues of involuntary clientele.
