Reconstruction of crossing - Brno, Míru square

This master's degree thesis is focused on the traffic problem at Míru square in the city of Brno where the intersection with tram terminus turning loop is located. Thesis is based on local engineering survey with the outcome of six different design variants. The variant with the tram turning loop displaced north-west was chosen for detailed design with the outcome of full technical documentation and drawings.
Thermal comfort of passengers at public transport stops

This diploma thesis focuses on the evaluation of the thermal comfort of passengers at public transport stops, in the shelters of public transport, which are an integral part of urban technical equipment. This topic is gaining in importance especially with regard to climate change and related with increasing frequency of extreme weather events. First part of the diploma thesis is the theoretical part, dealing with public transport shelters from various theoretical points of view. The practical part of the diploma theses deals with experimental measurements of selected physical quantities in the interior and exterior of eleven public transport shelters in the city of Brno, during the six months of 2020 (cold and warm periods). The facts found by experimental measurements for individual shelters are compared and evaluated, with the final selection of the optimal model of the technical solution of the shelter.

The master thesis focuses on the design of expanding urban infrastructure through a newly conceptualized double-track tramway in the Židenice area. The proposed route extends from Bubeníčkova Street through Gajdošova to Táborská Street, emphasizing an efficient connection to the existing tramway network in both directions. The study also includes the revitalization of Gajdošova Street. Special attention is given to the optimal placement of barrier-free tram stops with tactile enhancements.
Study of the Sadova area in Brno

The diploma thesis focuses on the assessment of transport infrastructure in Brno, the Sadová area and presents a solving proposal for selected problems. The work is based on the site's survey and measurement, as well as data collected from all available sources. The CDV methodology on road safety inspections in accordance with EU Directive 2008/96/EC was used as a basis for processing the analysis of individual sites. A detailed risk assessment is performed at four sites in the area where problems are identified and a proposal for their solution is given. In relation to public transport, the work also evaluates the individual bus stops, identifies major drawbacks, and contains suggestions for a comprehensive solution of bus stops emplacement. The proposal also includes suitable places for the implementation of pedestrian crossings on Kociánka.
Improving the quality of mobility in front of the Main Train Station in Brno

This thesis deals with reconstruction in front of the main train station in Brno. The space is an important transfer terminal and there are hight intensity of pedestrians due to the fact the train station is next to this location. The pedestrians are chaotically moving in the examine space (especially in the location of crossway). The goals of the thesis are to improve the quality of mobility of pedestrians in this location, to ensure barrier – free access to public transport stops which are not ensured today and to reduce static and transit traffic that does not belong into this space.

Geographical aspects of the Jihlava city's transportation system organisation

This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of Jihlava city's transportation system organisation. The first part of bachelor's thesis is focused on the terms and facts concerning the public transport in the Czech Republic as well as elsewhere in the world. In the middle part, both the historical and the current situation of Jihlava city's transportation system are examined. The essential part of this bachelor thesis is an analytical part which consists in the author's original evaluation of the current situation of Jihlava city's transportation system using the map outputs from ArcGIS programme. The number of the transport connections and the number of the boarding travellers is compared to each other in relation to the concrete day. Finally, the quality of public transport stops' time accessibility is observed and compared considering the address points.
