Scope of psychosocial assistance provided by Fire and Rescue Service of South Bohemian Region in dealing with emergencies and in protecting people
ZÍKA, Václav
The thesis deals with the psychosocial assistance and the entire complex of associated activities which have become a standard in helping people who have been affected by extraordinary events, critical situations and by the actions which are connected with the protection of people. The activities have become the standard in daily work of members of the Fire Rescue Service of South Bohemian Region, as well as of some other institutions, which are parties of the integrated rescue system, during their cooperation and joint intervention. Extraordinary events of various intensity, frequency and extent affect lives of people. The state creates various tools and measures and strives to be ready for harmful effects of these phenomena, address them effectively and minimize their impact. The Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic is the guarantor in this field; its work is based on Act No. 320/2015 Coll., On Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic, as amended. The main task of the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic is, among others, to protect lives and health of citizens of the Czech Republic. To fulfil its mission, the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic also provides psychosocial assistance to affected people during performing their rescue and relief activities. In that way, the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic develops its care and responds to overall needs of the citizens of the Czech Republic. Act no. 239/2000 Coll., On the Integrated Rescue System, as amended, sets the possibilities of coordination and the broad platform of collaboration and cooperation with other important governmental and nongovernmental organizations and institutions. The aim of my thesis was to evaluate the entire complex of activities of psychosocial assistance to people affected by exceptional events. Having known the theoretical sources and especially after the subsequent evaluation of my qualitative research, I wanted to make some suggestions and recommendations for changes and improvements in providing psychosocial assistance. I have formulated five research questions which reflect the full scope of the examined issues. The thesis is divided into two parts: a standard theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part includes the research and analysis of scientific literature and related laws which deal with the tasks of the Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic, psychological services, parties of the integrated rescue system and primarily with the psychosocial assistance. Mapping the needs, values and strategies of mastering the situation by psychologists of IZS components in view of abnormal event In connection with the research target, 6 research questions were formulated. The research part of the thesis is focused on psychologists of the main components of IZS. It tries to summarize their experience, opinions, standpoints, reservations, and also needs and strategies of mastering the situation in connection with providing psychological aid in the early stage after the abnormal event. The qualitative research is implemented in the thesis by the method of questionnaire investigation with 16 open questions. Data collection was done in the form of a phone talk with several respondents, questionnaire method is combined with the method of structured talk. The investigated sample consists of 11 respondents ? psychologists of the main IZS components. 7 respondents were firemen (HZS ? Fire Rescue Service), 3 policemen (CR Police) and one psychologist of ZZS (Medical Rescue Service). The answers of individual respondents were recorded and the complete transcriptions of answers are stated in Annexes to thesis. The acquired data were interpreted by the author in the way representing the answers to research questions. To achieve a well arranged result, this interpretation was summarized into several points from which the results of research follow which are discussed in more detail in the following chapter. It was found out in the answers to research questions: ? What drawbacks are seen by IZS psychologist in the present system of providing psychological aid to persons affected by MU (abnormal events), ? During the research performance, other not formulated questions occurred concerning not completely clear or not defined border between the psychological and psychosocial aid which the thesis tries to determine. It may be stated in the end that the research questions were answered in the practical part of thesis. The research questions were formulated in such a way that the answers on them represent the base for SWOT analysis of the system of providing psychological aid by IZS components. I believe for this reason, it may be utilized not only for study purposes.

Providing psychological aid and crisis intervention for the civilian population during an emergency situation
ŠČERBOVÁ, Nikola
This diploma thesis bears the title: Providing psychological aid and crisis intervention for the civilian population during an emergency situation. The theoretical part aims to survey the development and present state of psychosocial aid system in the Czech Republic, including individual subjects and organisations that provide help in places affected. The research is based on qualitative and quantitative surveys. The qualitative part was realised by means of a non-structured interview with a defined clinical psychologist and the main psychologist of the Fire Rescue Service of the Region of Karlovy Vary. I have fulfilled the objectives of my thesis in the following way: 1. to describe the structure and functionality of the psychological intervention system, 2. to assess experts{\crq} readiness to provide aid to victims of an emergency situation. The quantitative survey method included collecting data from the randomly chosen samples of 150 citizens who thus expressed their opinions of the questions of crisis intervention and psychological aid, from their own point of view. The research was conducted in the Region of Karlovy Vary. The structure of the psychosocial aid system came into being in 1997, when these questions started to be given more attention both from state authorities and non-profit-organisations, and commercial institutions. The fundamental state body that manages and coordinates the psychosocial aid system is the Interior Ministry, which has a post-traumatic intervention care system, elaborated in relation to citizens affected and in relation to intervening units, and that cooperates with the Integrated Rescue System (IZS) and foreign subjects. The results of the questionnaire survey are an integral part of my research. The civilian population has basic information about psychological aid, which they assess as an important factor for mastering mentally demanding situations. This diploma thesis is structured in such a way that provides the reader with a complex overview of the current state of psychosocial aid. I also aim, by means of my thesis, to point out the fact that there is no professional post-traumatic care in our health care system.
Psychosomatics overload exposures in casual realationship with extraordinary events experiences.
KREJČOVÁ, Kateřina
This bachelor thesis deals with the effects of traumatic experience from extraordinary events on psychosomatic manifestations in members of the Integrated Rescue System (IRS). Psychosomatic manifestations are caused by interactions between the soul and the body, i.e. effects of the physical condition on the mental condition and vice versa. The effects are also interconnected with the social environment of the afflicted person. It is therefore necessary to take care of all the so-called biopsychosocial human needs. The theoretical part describes psychosomatics as a discipline. It deals with the symptoms, general psychotherapy and historical development of psychosomatics. Further, it discusses the possibility of crisis intervention and specific risks of activities performed by the individual IRS components. The practical part of the thesis monitored the effects of traumatic experiences on members of the Fire Rescue Service corps, Medical Emergency Service and Police of the Czech Republic. The aim was to determine the gravity of this problem and to jointly find possible solutions. The results have shown show that there is a certain level of negative impact and therefore it is important to focus on preventive measures to avoid serious complications.
