Comparison of students lifestyle at the selected faculties of the University of South Bohemia, with a special focus on managing mental stress
BRŮŽKOVÁ, Radka
The thesis is composed of theoretical and practical parts. Theoretical part deals with the matter of key determinants of health. The lifestyle also belongs there. The thesis describes the lifestyle with its factors. It also contains the characteristic of the high school population and changes in the student´s lifestyles connected with it. It is also focused on the field of psychical resistance and dealing with the stressful situations. Practical part of this bachelor thesis was processed by the quantitative method with the help of questionnaires. The sample for research was composed of students of The Health and Social faculty and The Faculty of Agriculture of The University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. Own original questionnaires were used for the research. The main aim of this thesis was to explore the difference between the lifestyles with the focus on the students´ psychical stress of two different faculties of The University of South Bohemia. There was a hypothesis defined for the research. I supposed there are important differences in the lifestyles between the students of both faculties. These differences were considered in connection with the psychical stress. The data were statistically processed. I came to conclusion that the hypothesis wasn´t proved after statistical evaluation. The research showed that the students are different in some fields, but there is not important difference in many of them. It was discovered after the comparison with the help of t-test. It is supposed that the bachelor thesis could be used as the source of information about the students´ lifestyles focused on the dealing with psychical stress for the concrete faculties. It also can serve to inform about the determinants which predispose to the illnesses and awareness of the importance of the own mental health.

Comparison of the psychosocial intervention within the basic sectors of the Integrated Rescue System
KUBÍČEK, Pavel
Theoretical part First chapter of my thesis on Comparison of Psychosocial Crisis Intervention among Basic Parts of the Integrated Rescue System deals with general topics like stress and its symptoms. The next chapter follows individual parts of the integrated rescue system and stress situations resulting from their jobs. Work in IRS varies a lot but the impact on people employed in IRS is pretty similar. Third chapter deals with crisis management. Following is chapter number four presenting signs, forms and steps of crisis intervention. The most important chapter of the theoretical section of the thesis is the fifth chapter called Options of crisis intervention for IRS parts. The options of psychological support for firemen, policemen and paramedics are described here in detail. Research part I intended to find out to what extent is a job with IRS burdensome for its members, whether they know about the options of psychological support and how they make use of it employing a survey consisting of 26 questions. 300 people were addressed with the return rate amounting to 87,67%. Basic descriptive statistics were produced. Hypothesis no. 1 and 2 were tested by Chi-square test on the level of significance of 0,05. Hypothesis no. 3 was tested by Fischer exact test on the level of significance of 0,05. Objectives of the thesis were following: to explain terms related to the topic of psychosocial crisis intervention to assess the means of support each part of IRS offers its members to find out whether the members of IRS know about these means of support and use them to compare these support services provided by respective parts of IRS and come up with suggestions for eventual improvement Results The survey contains all three parts of IRS proportionately. The most respondents work at ZZS (paramedics, 36,5%), the least at the Police force (30,8%). Regarding the hypotheses and objectives of my thesis the outcomes are following. 68,8% of the respondents agreed that their job is mentally very demanding. Level of psychological stress is the same for all parts of IRS. This corroborates the first hypothesis. 87,8% of respondents claim to know about the option of psychologist or peer consultations. Yet only 27,8% of respondents admit to make use of this option, with firemen doing so most frequently. The second hypothesis was corroborated only to a certain extent for only 16 members of Police claimed to make use of psychological support. Of all the respondents in the survey 158 people admit to have never used this kind of support. Hypothesis no. 3 was thus corroborated. Conclusion All the members of IRS regard their work as psychologically very stressful. The research part proved that level of information about means of crisis intervention is high among the members of IRS. Mainly firemen consider the psychological support to be necessary, a fact which could be expected relating to the nature of their job. Policemen are those who use the least of crisis intervention support (and provided the smallest number of respondents for the survey as well). Crisis intervention is most popular with the firemen. Nevertheless it is necessary to continue raising consciousness about crisis intervention and its practical delivery.

Of which there were three sisters from České Budějovice Hospital, two nurses from University Hospital Motol in Prague, five sisters from the University Hospital Brno and three nurses from University Hospital Olomouc. Reasons of consumption of narcotic drugs at medical high schools
CANDROVÁ, Eliška
Taking drugs is not a problem only in the Czech Republic, but it is a worldwide issue. This conduct leads to the disruption of health and life values of an individual and the whole society. Taking drugs affects biological, psychological and social spheres not only at the time when an adolescent leads a risky way of life, but also in the future, when he/she must bear the consequences of his/her behavior. According to prominent authors dealing with the issue of the use of narcotic and psychotropic substances one of the stated reasons is neuro-psychological stress. This type of stress is more evident in students of secondary nursing schools than in other helping professions. The study includes a theoretical section, in which adolescence is characterized, the factors leading to addiction and the most common reasons for taking drugs are described. Individual narcotic and psychotropic substances are characterized in detail and statistical evaluation of their use is given. Stress and stress situations and their impact on drug use are discussed. Mental hygiene and relaxation are also included. In the practical part the objectives are set, the course of my own research and also discussions with the authors from which I drew information are described. Data were collected by means of quantitative research. The method of questioning, the anonymous questionnaire technique was used. On that basis the predetermined hypotheses were verified or falsified. Students were interviewed in the school in the presence of administrators, with exclusion of teachers and others with a similar authority who could affect the validity of collected data. The research objective was to survey the use of addictive drug in secondary nursing schools. Specifically, what narcotic drugs the students use, with what frequency, in what manner and what are the reasons for doing so. The research shows that students of secondary nursing schools are mostly stressed psychologically. These students drink more alcohol, use more tobacco products and drugs than other students. The results of the study can be used in practice, for the purposes of additional research and awareness for the professional and general public.

The Risks of Working as a Nurse
GENGELOVÁ, Gabriela
The work of nurses in health care is often physically and psychologically demanding. Some inpatient departments have specific labor conditions and from them come risks. Nurses are continuously exposed to the risk of injury, infection, but also stress caused by their work. These labor-related risks can cause disorders on health or cause labor-related diseases. Therefore, it is necessary to reduce workload, stress, psycho-social risks and pay special attention to preventive measures and keep sanitary-epidemiological behavior. This Bachelor thesis called ?Risks of Nurse´s Labor? is divided into two parts. The theoretical part strives to summarize the risks of a nurse?s work focusing on preventive measures related to particular risks. Results of this survey are processed in the research part of this thesis. During the survey I used a quantitative method of data collection ? by using a questionnaire. The research file was created by nurses working in Internal and Neurological departments and a Residential facility for chronically ill patients in the Hospital České Budějovice, a.s. and in the University Hospital in Plzeň. In the Bachelor´s thesis 2 objectives and 3 related hypotheses have been set. The objectives were fulfilled and hypotheses were either verified or rejected. The author was trying to find out what nurses regard as the highest risks in clinically focused workplaces and what preventive measures are applied with respect to perceived risks. From the results come out that nurses regard being stung by an infected needle as the highest risk in the workplace. Preventive measures are applied in a limited scope.
