IP Multimedia Subsystem technology signalling

Aim of this Bachelor´s thesis is to describe singnalization during communication through IP Multimedia Subsystem technology. The first part focuses on describing the technology itself, entities of its architecture and used protocols. Next part deals with creation of a network which will be used for examining signalization during call sessions. This network is created in Ericsson´s Service Development Studio environment. The last part discusses development and testing of client application for instant messaging.
IMS technology testing

This thesis is about the IMS technology, which is a standard defining the architecture for providing multimedia services. The theoretical part is a general description of the technology, architecture, a brief description of segments and used protocols. The practical part is a description of the environment of Open IMS Core and testing network designed according to theoretical knowledge. This is essentially a description and analysis of the registration process, voice transmission(it means a call between two users), text relay and video. A laboratory task was created on the basis of obtained knowledge.

Intercommunication of Asterisk and VCON VoIP PBX

The main goal of this bachelor thesis was to familiarize with VoIP telephony development and its nowadays utilization. First part of the work includes description of known communication protocols SIP and H.323 architecture and their usage in communication. Next part is dedicated to software PBX Asterisk that runs under Ubuntu distribution of Linux operation system. The process of PBX installation is described there as well as its adjustment for SIP and H.323 for communication within IP net. There is also described software PBX VCON that runs under Windows XP operation system. Beyond the adjustment of the PBXs there is also concrete adjustment of software clients SJPhone and X-Lite that are necessary for communication between individual telephone exchanges. The final chapter is dedicated to the problems of mutual connection (intercommunication) of individual telephone exchanges Asterisk and VCON.

The second chapter is focused on services - Presence, Instant Messaging, Push to Talk over Cellular and IPTV. For each service is described architecture and basic signaling. The third chapter describes the various protocols used in IMS, protocol SIP is described in more details. The fourth chapter contains a description of the application environment SDS Ericsson in which was implemented practical part. The fifth and final chapter deals with the IPTV service in SDS and SIP communications with IMS core. Traffic reports are analyzed in each case the client communication with IMS core with integrated tracking of messages passing through the CSCF, HSS and DNS in program SDS. Important findings of the work are summarized in the conclusion.
