Word tasks on fractions and percentages
ADAMCOVÁ, Hana
This bachelor´s thesis deals with the topic of mathematics, namely word problems with fractions and percentages. It acquaints the reader with the basic properties of fractions and percentages and with the different types of word problems in which fractions and percentages appear. For most verbal tasks, their solution procedure is supplemented by verbal commentary and some of them by graphical representation of the solution. First, of all, the work shows a close, relations between fractions and percentages. This bachelor´s thesis can be used as study material.
Constructivist teaching of percentage in two classes with a different background in teaching mathematics
Pechmanová, Kateřina ; Vondrová, Naďa (advisor) ; Kvasz, Ladislav (referee)
The content of the thesis consists of a description of constructivist teaching of the topic of percentage in the primary school, that is the teaching in which not the teacher, but the pupil is in the center. The principles of constructivist teaching and the learning process in terms of the theory of generic models are described on the basis of literature. In accordance with these principles, a number of textbooks have been analyzed, in which the the topic of percentage is introduced, and experimental teaching based on the above principles has been prepared. Experimental teaching was realized in two classes of the 7th grade with a different experience with the teaching of mathematics in their 6th grade. The main goal of the work was to prepare, implement, describe and evaluate the teaching of percentage based on pupils' activity and their individual discovery. The lessons have been described and evaluated on the basis of audio recordings, notes from the lessons, records of pupilss solutions, interviews, notes and interviews with a teacher assistant, pre-tests and post-tests. The lessons were analyzed mainly in terms of pupils' involvement in teaching, their discoveries and knowledge acquisition, including its anchoring in the knowledge structure. In both classes, part of the pupils managed to find a...
Didactic approaches to the teaching of some mathematical topics at the primary school in teachers ́ diskurse
Vencovská, Jaroslava ; Vondrová, Naďa (advisor) ; Kvasz, Ladislav (referee)
The aim of the thesis was through a new analysis of interviews with teachers of mathematics, to describe didactic practices used by teachers while teaching selected topics (namely, proportions, linear equations, divisibility, percent, symmetry, Pythagorean theorem ) and compare them with the practices reported in textbooks and other literature. First, teaching methods, teaching forms and the mechanism of concept development by M. Hejný are given. Based on the analysis of more than thirty interview, it was found that teachers use the usual didactic practices but also create their own methods and procedures. These methods and techniques are provided for each critical issue separately in the fourth chapter of the thesis. Furthermore, the content analysis of selected textbooks is given for each topic. Identified practices of teachers which they use in their teaching practice, form the result of my work.
Percentage tasks in a mathematical olympiad, in corresponding seminars, and in PISA and TIMSS tests.
TOMANOVÁ, Denisa
Diploma thesis includes information about percentages, mathematical olympiad, mathematical corresponding seminars and PISA ant TIMSS tests. The first, theoretical part describes historical development of mathematical olympiad and its organization, the history of mathematical corresponding seminars and list of current seminars for primary school students. The second part of the diploma thesis consists of the collection of tasks examples with percentages that appear in mathematical olympiad, mathematical corresponding seminars and PISA and TIMSS tests.
A Collection of Mathematical Problems for the 8th Grade of Basic School
HRANÍČEK, Antonín
This bachelor thesis named A Collection of Mathematical Problems for the 8th Grade of Basic School consists of numerical as well as word problems and it focuses on the topics covered in mathematics in the 8th grade of basic schools. The collection is meant to be used as a practice material. The content is divided into 9 chapters which are further divided into individual subchapters. At the end of each chapter, there are results and solutions for each chapter.
Frugal Mathematics in Finance
JANKŮJOVÁ, Kristýna
This work is focused on application examples from financial mathematics. And especially the percentage, simple and compound interest and consumer loans associated with the calculation of APR. Initially, in a nutshell acquainted with the history of banking in both the world and in the Czech context. This chapter aims to show how the development of banking has helped to increasing indebtedness of humanity. The methodology chapter theoretically describes methods, for use in practice on the issues. The aim of this chapter is an overview of the use of simple basic mathematical operations for computing examples from financial mathematics. The final chapter is devoted to application examples. There are solved examples, which are inspired by current information.
Workbook proposal for teaching Mathematics at primary and secondary school, chosen chapters - percentage, axial symmetry
KRÁTKÁ, Lenka
My thesis is focused on using ICT (Information and Communication Technology) for teaching about percentage and axial symmetry. Specifically I am using an interactive whiteboard to support my teaching. The thesis is divided into two parts, a theoretical and a practical part. The first part is looking into various teaching methods, use of ICT and the interactive whiteboard in teaching in general. The second part of my thesis contains a workbook I have prepared to support my teaching on the interactive whiteboard and the application of the workbook during lessons for the students on secondary school. I have concluded my thesis with evaluation of my teaching methods and reflective practice.
