The pedagogy of Salesians of Don Bosco and its Development in the Czech Republic after 1989

The subject of my bachelor thesis is Salesian pedagogy and its development after 1989 in the Czech Republic. In the education of youth, Salesian pedagogy utilizes a preventive educational system. This system is applied in so-called Salesian Youth Centers. In my work, I focused on the pedagogical methods currently used in these centers. The main aim of my thesis was to monitor the development of approaches and methods from year 1990 to prezent. This development is documented by several interviews I have made with the Salesian centre respondents.
Preventive and repressive system at primery school

This thesis is about the repressive educational system and preventive educational system which don Bosco used in his practice. The goal of the thesis was to find out what kind of systems is reflected in the behaviour of teachers towards pupils. The thesis is divided into five parts, which coincide with the number of the individual chapters. The first chapter describes the emergence of preventive system. The second part describes the three basic pillars of the preventive system. The third chapter explains the differences between a preventive and a repressive system. The fourth part deals with education, its agents and resources, and as reflected in both systems. The last part contains the quantitative research, where it was used the investigation by questionnaires. The goal of this research is the same as with the above stated goal.
Motivation of Young People to Visit Salesian Youth Center - for Children and Adolescents České Budějovice

This thesis deals with the motivation of young people to visit the Salesian Youth Center for Children and Adolescents in České Budějovice. The thesis aims to find out what motivates young people aged 13-18 to visit regularly the Leisure Club Oráč in the Salesian Youth Center. The work is devided into 3 main chapters. The first chapter characterizes the facilities in the center, the second one focuses on the Leisure Club Oráč in detail and characterizes the profile of its clients. It also describes the developmental needs of its clients in terms of their potential motives leading them to the regular attendance of this club. The final chapter includes my own quantitative research using the questionnaires. The intention of this research corresponds with the above stated goal.
Elements of salesian spirituality in the pedagogical work of Magdalena Morano

The thesis deals with the elements of salesian spirituality in the pedagogical work of Magdalena Morano, a salesian sister who dedicated her life to education of poor girls in Sicily at the turn of the 19. and the 20. centuries. The first part of the work presents in outline the historical and political context of Italy and Sicily in the second half of the 19. century. The next part informs about the life of Magdalena Morano and her activity in Sicily. The fundamental part deals with the salesian preventive system realized by Magdalena Morano. There is developed the aim and addressees of educational work, its principles, methods, manners and means. The chapter is concluded with a mention of protagonists of education. The last part shows
Comparison of two concrete salesians youth centre in Spain and in the Czech Republic

The work deals with historical, theoretical and ideological base of salesians educational style and its impletion in practice. There is example of two concrete salesians youth centers from two different countries ? Spain and Czech Republic. In the beginning of the essay the founder of salesians Don Bosco is presented in context of the times and other distinct elements with involves his individuality and social activity. Then we get to the preventive system the basic method of salesians and its context in present. Because the essay compares two centers from two countries, there is short characteristic of salesians activity nowadays in the world, especially in both states where are the compared youth centers ? in Spain it is ?Asociación periferia? and in Czech Republic it is?Salesiánské středisko mládeže ? dům dětí a mládeže České Budějovice?. Each centre is introduced in generous and then could be done the comparison according to the criterions. Chosen criterions are: target group, competence to social assistance and complexity action at nurse-child. Each criterion is at first described in relation to Don Bosco and then concretely how it works in both centers. At the foot of each criterion is summing-up if the center infill the criterion or not.
Spiritual Accompaniment in the Salesian Spirituality

The thesis defines the term of spiritual accompaniment which is nowadays realized in the Salesian spirituality. Firstly, it introduces some characteristics of the 21st century which influence modern people´s lives. Then spiritual accompaniment and the Salesian spirituality based on the ideas of St. Francis de Sales and St. John Bosco are defined. In the following chapters it is explained how spiritual accompaniment helps to fulfil the Salesian mission and how the method of preventive system is used for accompaniment. It also presents the skills which a person trying to accompany others should have. Activities, in which the Salesian spiritual accompaniment is carried out, are introduced in the next part. In conclusion, several ways of realisation of spiritual accompaniment are suggested.
The Comparison of Selected Alternative Schools' Pedagogical Systems with the Don Bosco Preventive System

The Paper discusses the education and upbringing as a system, and is especially aimed at the Preventive system of Saint John Bosco. The Bosco{\crq}s system is then compared to the selected alternative schools{\crq} pedagogical systems, which take humanism as the core of approach to the child{\crq}s soul. The aim of this baccalaureate paper is to compare the selected issues, which the author sees as being important. It is the specification of target group, to which the pedagogical system is aimed at, the upbringing and educational methods, the monitored educational objectives and the educational environment. Also, there is the monitoring of the relationship between the system and the Christianity.
