Preventing ACL injuries in football training

Title: Preventing ACL injuries in football training Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to find out how the implementation team of a football team deals with injury prevention and ACL injury prevention in their players and how they are able to implement them in the training process. Methods: In the theoretical part, the thesis includes a detailed study of the existing literature focused on injuries, anatomy and biomechanics of the ACL, follow-up procedures, risk factors and prevention when this type of injury occurs. In the practical part, an anonymous questionnaire method was used, targeting the members of the implementation team, where both open and closed multiple choice questions related to the subject matter were used. Results: From the results in the questionnaire investigation, it is clear that 96% of coaches and members of the implementation team apply injury prevention in one week microcycle. However, only 16% are dedicated to specific ACL injury prevention. There were findings that 64% apply one training unit in the gym. This is dominated by strengthening exercises (31%), compensatory (21%) and stabilization (19%). A larger half (60%) reported that their player's ACL injury had occurred.
