Predisposition to language learning in adolescents from multilingual families

Language learning predisposition in adolescents from multilingual families' is a paper investigating bilingualism and multilingualism in adolescents who come from multilingual families. The aim of the paper was to comment on the effects on specific aspects of teaching based on the researched approach to language proficiency of bilingual learners. The main research focuses on the question of whether or not it is always true that these adolescents automatically have a talent for foreign languages. There are many stereotypes about bilingualism and bilingual or multilingual education in Czech society and in this paper the author confirms some of them and refutes some of them. The first part of this thesis is more theoretically oriented and explains various concepts related to bilingualism (such as code-switching, bilingual family, types of bilingualism, plurilingualism, second language acquisition, interference, positive transfer, sociolinguistics, etc.). In the second part of this thesis, the author will show in a differentiated perspective the variety of impacts of bilingual learners' backgrounds on language learning. The Genetic predisposition of a speed ability among the players of the 1st and 2nd Czech football league

Title The genetic predisposition of a speed ability among the players of the 1st and 2nd Czech football league. Study aim To determine the impact of ACE I/D, ACTN3 R577X, AMPD1 Gln12X, BDKRB2 9/+9, IL1RN VNTR, NOS3 Glu298Asp, UCP2 Ala55Val polymorphisms genotype frequencies on the results of the speed ability motor tests. Methods DNA samples obtained from epithelial mouth were quantified and analyzed using the PCR method from 106 football players of the 1st and 2nd Czech football league (age 25,3 ± 4,69; weight 77,5 ± 7,33; height 181,2 ± 6,23). Genotype frequencies were estimated for the ACE I/D, ACTN3 R577X, AMPD1 Gln12X, BDKRB2 9/+9, IL1RN VNTR, NOS3 Glu298Asp, UCP2 Ala55Val polymorphism. Motor speed ability was tested by the vertical jump height, produced power and power impulse for the countermovement jump, countermovement jump without arms swing and squat jump. Isokinetic maximal power of flexors and extensors of the knee were tested at the angle speed 60ř.s-1 , 180ř.s-1 , 300ř.s-1 . Χ2 test (Pearson's chi-square test) was used to determine the genotypes difference for the parameters of the motor speed ability tests in the football players who exceeded 80th percentil compare to the other football players. Diabetes mellitus is a chronic metabolic disease, which is caused by enrivonmental and genetic factors. This disease is characterised by elevated glucose levels in the blood. Diabetes is divided into two main types. Diabetes type I. is the autoimmune reaction of the organism. It's genetic predisposition is mainly based on the HLA complex II. class. Diabetes type II. is represented by impaired insulin secretion or action. Genetic predisposition of this type is very various.
Factors influencing consumer behavior of the population and the possible interactions between them

This thesis analyzes the effects of various factors on consumer behavior of the population and their subsequent manifestations in consumer purchase decision-making process. The first part describes general concepts of consumer behavior and then it is followed by an analyse of cultural, sociological, psychological and ecnomic effects. Each chapter also specifficaly describes how these factors may affect consumers themselves. The theoretical section is folowed by the practical part, in which could be, because of adequate theoretical knowledge, specified eight hypotheses. In order to need collecting necessery data was completed a questionnaire. Its first part analyzes specific kind of consumer behavior manifestations, the second one analyzes the factors that influence the loan amount, which I chose as one of the consumer behavior manifestations. Three hypotheses were not confirmed, remaining five hypotheses were confirmed. With using the regression analysis there was shown that the factors which influence the loan amount the most are the wage amount, the purpose of the loan, marital status and age.
Cognitive predispositions affected by degree of brain masculinity and femininity

This thesis is concerned with gender-related differences of cognitive predispositions. Findings could be utilized predominantly in human resource management, pedagogy and psychology. The research was proceeded as a case study of 45 undergraduate students. Individual degree of masculinity/femininity (gender) was indicated by the Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI), while cognitive preferences were measured and described by Hermann Brain Dominance Instrument (HBDI). Another data were obtained by means of qualitative research methods, such as participant observation and semi-structured interviews. Besides, in general features were surveyed hand-lateral-preference, professional orientation and attention capability. All probands were divided into 6 categories according to gender and degree of MF. Synthesis of MMPI and HBDI results showed significant congruence between the gender-categories and a dominant preference of the HBDI{\crq}s cognitive styles: Masculine men {--} a dominant preference of A-mode (analytical thinking). Feminine men {--} a dominant preference of D-mode (imaginative thinking). Masculine women {--} a dominant preference of B-mode (sequential thinking). Feminine women {--} a dominant preference of C-mode (interpersonal thinking). This findings were in accordance with a professional orientation of the probands (regardless of the field of study they have choosen). Right-brain dominant students (mostly feminine men) were not well-adjusted to a classical passive teaching metods.
