Push: Translation and Stylistic Analysis of Selected Passages From the Novel

This bachelor's thesis aims to explore the unconventional register used in Sapphire's novel PUSH. The practical section of the thesis is dedicated to translating the first chapter and the final two paragraphs of the novel from the English language into the Czech language. The theoretical section of the thesis focuses on stylistic analysis of the translation, examining various textual elements such as register, vulgarisms, idiomatic expressions, and place names. The practical section also considers and explains the decisions made during the translation process. The thesis also includes chapters dealing with Sapphire's biography and a brief introduction to translation theory, discussing the theories of Jiří Levý, Dagmar Knittlová, Theodore Savory and Eugene Nida.
Types of grammatical mistakes made by secondary school pupils (ages 11-15) in their dictation exercises

The topic of bachelor thesis is the types of spelling mistakes in dictation of pupils of lower-secondary school. The theoretical part focuses on orthography, its historical development and division. It also deals with the overview of the types of the spelling exercises. The core of this part is the characteristic of dictation, division of dictations, principles of dictated text and marking of finished dictations. The practical part is elaborated on the basic of dictations and their subsequent analysis. The aim of the thesis is to determine which spelling mistakes the pupils of the 9th class are most likely to commit, in which phenomena they make no mistakes, or they make at least mistakes in them.
The grammar exercises at the 2nd level of a primary school education

The theme of bachelor's work is teaching spelling in the second grade of elementary school. The work will be divided into theoretical and practical part. The aim is to establish the current state of spelling knowledge of pupils in elementary schools. The theoretical part will be devoted to selected manuals of spelling, history, development and division of the Czech spelling. The theoretical part will study spelling of pupils in the second grade of elementary schools. The chapter will be devoted to the subject matter in the various grades of the second degree, on the basis of the FEP (the framework educational programme) and textbooks that pupils use. The practical part will be based on the analysis of the spelling exercises, which will be developed by the pupils of the second grade of elementary schools. On the basis of the evaluation ofthe exercise will be described the most common spelling mistakes made by pupils.
The research on pupil's conception of grammatical problems on the second degree of primary school

This Diploma Thesis is concerned with the research on pupils? conception of orthographical questions, importance and relevance to grammatical phenomena and grammatical correctness in current communication used by pupils in secondary schools. The Thesis is divided into three parts. The theoretical part deals with the definition of term ?orthography?, orthographical principles and functions, the importance of orthography and its types. There is also a section in the theoretical part which is concerned with the main tendencies and the newest approaches to orthography in secondary schools. In this part attention is focused on history of orthography, orthographical limitations and analysis of mistakes in current school, further the influence of computer on spelling and its educational usage, types of orthographical exercises, its correction and marking. It also contains a cross-section of orthographical questions in the Slovak Republic and foreigners? spelling problems. The practical part deals with the analysis of theoretical curriculum converted into practical tasks. There are also the most frequent mistakes and pupils? attitude to orthography education in this part, which we got on the basis of questionnaire evaluation. In the third part, which is also practical, there are some methods for pupils? motivation which should help to raise the efficiency of orthography education in secondary schools.
