The intended objective is to provide pieces of advice to many parents. This work could serve as a guide in searching effective strategies for a child with attention and hyperactivity deficit disorder. The second objective is to share experience and educational methods when dealing with an adopted child diagnosed with the ADHD syndrom at the age of three. This piece of work offers effective instructions for families that expect the future with worries and might have the feeling of failure in raising their child. In the theoretical part the ADHD syndrom is defined as well as possible causes, manifestations and therapy of an ADHD syndrom children.
Parents´ and students´ attitudes to truancy
VESECKÁ, Nela
Truancy is a behavioural disorder characterized by the student wilfully staying away from school without permission or appropriate excuse. The student's absence is always excused by the teacher rather than by one of the student's parents, upon a written request of the student's legal representative (if he or she is a minor), or the student himself/herself (if he/she is of age), and invariably in accordance with the school's rules. Truancy is a serious offence; the student intentionally avoids compulsory school attendance, thus violating not only the school's rules, but also the Education Act. The socio-pathological phenomenon mentioned above is not a rare occurrence in today's school practice, having become commonplace in both elementary and secondary education. Owing to its serious nature, topicality and potential negative impacts, it merits a deeper examination. The present bachelor thesis, Attitudes of Parents and Students to Truancy, attempts to identify views of today's ninth-grade students of elementary schools on truancy-related problems by means of an analysis of different components of their attitudes. Its objective is therefore to map opinions, emotional reactions and behavioural trends of the students with respect to the object of the attitude. At the same time, it outlines how the students perceive the attitudes of their parents to the same problem. The work is divided into two principal parts. The theoretical part summarises existing knowledge on truancy-related problems. The first chapter deals with truancy in general, presenting relevant terms and definitions. Subsequent chapters are dedicated, in particular, to the typology of truancy, a detailed analysis of different causes of truancy, available solutions, and last but not least very important prevention of the socio-pathological phenomenon. The empirical part is based on a qualitative survey; a semi-structured interview technique was used to collect the data needed to meet the objective of the thesis. The respondents were pupils of the "Vltava" Elementary School in České Budějovice, who were interviewed, after their grades had been closed, using a set of questions based on the objective of the work and prepared in advance. The survey shows that today's ninth-grade students harbour mainly negative attitudes to truancy. They deny they would intentionally stay away from school, although most of them admit they often fake health problems to be able to stay home and avoid school. The paradoxical attitude is attributable to the fact that the students do not have any information on types of truancy and that they are not aware of potential consequences of the phenomenon, thus not knowing that even faking health problems qualifies as truancy. Furthermore, the survey has confirmed that parents' attitudes to truancy are negative as well, although they often support the socio-pathological phenomenon by allowing their offspring to stay at home without a serious reason at the time they should be at school. The reason is that they too are unaware of consequences of their acts. It should be noted that the results of the survey may be skewed to a substantial extent, as attitudes to truancy are affected by many factors. The bachelor thesis aims to present a comprehensive view on truancy-related issues. The results of the survey it presents could be made use of by teachers and educators who encounter the socio-pathological phenomenon in their everyday work, as well as by parents or general public interested in the topic.

Hyperactivity
VELKOVÁ, Martina
In my diploma thesis I deal with the issues of hyperactivity that has recently been a very current and discussed topic. In the theoretic part of my thesis, I specify the concept of hyperactivity and talk further about its symptoms and consequent effects. I, as well, pay close attention to the current possibilities of reeducation with a consequent focus on the programs supporting hyperactive children and their parents. The practical part of the diploma thesis consists of three parts: an interview with a pedagogue working with hyperactive children; a case report of a hyperactive child; questionnaire survey and its subsequent interpretation. The practical part of the diploma thesis focuses on the particular symptoms of hyperactivity at hyperactive children in the school environment and their consequent effects. It tries to find out the possibilities of the reeducation and remedy at the same time. In detail, it targets the help to hyperactive children and their parents offered by schools and consequently the ratio of utilization by the parents. At the very end of the practical part of the diploma thesis, I dedicate my work to an assessment of hypothesis defined by myself.
Child Protection Legislation and Problems in the Application Thereof
KADLEC, David
Child protection legislation provides the means and legal basis for appropriate child care in situations where the constructive development and life of a child are at risk. This bachelor thesis addresses the work of a youth curator, who, as a social worker of a child protection agency, applies such legislation in practice. The aim of this thesis was to highlight the problems of applying current child protection legislation and to propose ways forward and solutions. The sample was limited to a group of children with educational problems. The research methodology was based on qualitative research practices and techniques. An analysis of the content of the case records of children with educational problems was the main technique, which was later supplemented by a technique of non-standard interviewing. The research results are presented in the form of case studies accompanied by interviews. The case studies and interviews confirmed that existing child protection legislation can be applied to a wide range of situations. It followed from the discussion that the application of child protection legislation is faced in particular with problems of inconsistency in the practices used by different child protection institutions. These problems consequently impair the efficiency of the youth curator{\crq}s work. The creation of a policy establishing uniform procedures for all participating institutions or the establishment of a state institution to coordinate these processes would offer a way forward in tackling these issues.
Problems of behavioral disorders the pupils (students) in school environment, especially the aggressiveness and vexation, the posibilities of their prevention
VONEŠOVÁ, Pavla
This diploma thesis deals with behavioural problems of pupils in a school setting, particularly with aggression and bullying, as well as the possibility of their prevention. It consists of a theoretical part, a practical part, and appendices. The theoretical part treats behavioural problems in pupils, presenting the separate disorders in all their possible forms, accounting for both internal and external factors triggering them, explaining their causes and the conditions under which they occur, and, finally, surveys the possibility of their prevention and treatment. The practical part uses a questionnaire designed by the author of the thesis and discussions conducted in schools to identify the most common types of behavioural disorders. The results of the research are presented in charts and graphs and are complemented by data obtained in the discussions. This part is concluded with a thorough analysis of the data. The appendices contain real-life examples of behavioural problems encountered by teachers, the minimum prevention programme implemented by the basic school in Jistebnice and its evaluation for the school year of 2008/2009, the crisis management scheme of the same school, and additional materials relating to the topic.
Specifics Pertaining to the Work of Radiological Assistants at Penitentiary Institutions
LÍSKOVSKÁ, Diana
The bachelor thesis explores medical care at penitentiary institutions {--} Valdice Prison in this particular case. As a radiological assistant, I focused in particular on the Department of Radiodiagnostics, Centre of Skiagraphics. I searched for differences of the work of a radiological assistant compared to a civil medical facility. The research focused on exploring the numbers of skiagraphic examinations in 1988 {--} 2008 and investigated the followed set. The results will show clearly whether the numbers of skiagraphic examinations were increasing or decreasing in the course of the years. In conclusion, the numbers will be compared to those of a civil medical facility. Comparison of data from skiagraphic examinations and their subsequent analysis will be used to verify the efficiency of the existing penitentiary system concept. Self-inflicted traumas represent the last-resort form of protest that provides evidence either of a high degree of desperation or low self-respect to social values. High responsive value of the compared data is expected in the hardest prison. The aim of this work is to acquaint the broad public with the specific features of the work of a radiological assistant, with the structure and characteristics of his or her occupational environment. Numerous principal changes have occurred in the field of the penitentiary system since 1989. These changes have not been widely welcome by the public. The process of humanization is not perceived as an effort of the government to change the attitudes of sentenced persons toward social values. It is seen predominantly as an incomprehensible display of weakness and excessive tolerance. Based on objective data, I would like to provide evidence of the efficiency and purpose of the humanization process in the penitentiary system and to help change the view of the public regarding its efficiency.
