The Portrait
Ďuriš, Juraj ; Paučo, Samuel (referee) ; Zálešák, Jan (advisor)
In my work I develop a set of about thirty small format oil paintings. I refer them to my previous job, where I dealt with the portrait (small objects, cigarette boxes, toys). The focus of my interest is shifting from relics of human presence, to the man, as a thinking, sentient being in the presence with a spiritual dimension. Portraits therefore gives rise on live session (from my surrounding area). Simple situation in which stand opposite painter and his model, with the only task - to create an image - allows to concentrate attention on the very situation, and its interpretation, which is conditioned, naturally depends on the context in which it happens.
The Psychological Portait
Pokorná, Barbora ; Smetana, Matěj (referee) ; Kvíčala, Petr (advisor)
My work called "Psychological portrait" contain two different series - self-portraits and portraits of my friends. The both of them are reflecting mental state of human, but each of them in different way. The friends are portrayed in the way how I personally perceive them, whereas self-portraits recapitulate several important moments of my life which affected me during the last year. The paintings are very personal, so people who don´t know me are not able to understand it very well. The important is, that the pictures should give the impression and arouse the questions - it is intensified by the titles, which slightly uncover their content. At the same time each of the series are somehow connected to the my previous works, which I made during the study, so it is some kind of completion of my previous creation.

Privacy and propaganda: The iconography of the emperor Rudolf II
Zlatohlávková, Eliška
Many portraits were painted of Rudolf II during his lifetime, forming a significant component of Rudolfian art, however, they have not received sufficient art historical attention. They document—at times in a stylyzed manner—the transformation of Rudof´s appearance. However, their most important task was to demonstrate and make tangeable Rudolf´s authentic apperance to the world and to celebrate his magnanimity and personality. Thus, there are many portraits that represent Rudolf as a good emperor or a brilliant commander. It is difficult to find interconnections between the many portraits that were produced of Rudolf, however among them one may find some artworks that would become exemplars for other portraits of the emperor during his reign/lifetime/the end of the 16th and early 17th century.

ČOPFOVÁ, Blanka
Abstract {\clqq}Images of Friends`` Contemporary portrait paintings in the works of European women artists Collection of works inspired by relationships and people The graduation thesis is divided into two main parts. The first one deals with the contemporary portrait paintings of European women artists; the second one concerns the ideological and technical aspect of their work. In the theoretical part of the thesis I am concerned with the diverse conceptions of portrait painting of the European women artists from the 2nd half of the 19th century until now. I have highlighted the factors which define the changes in topicality and character of the portrait painting of the artists. Within this context I have traced the influence of emancipation of the artists on their work, the influence of the visual media on the portrait genre itself, the diverse conceptions of portrait painting arising from respect to traditions of the genre or diversion from the traditions. The text also contains self-reflective parts connected to the work itself and supplementary material concerning the technical side of the work. The practical part of my thesis comprises documentation of a collection of twelve portraits.
